boardwalk villa transportation issues

I think everyone shoudl be careful about saying they'll just rent a car. It might give them the idea to put rental car places next to the resorts!

Actually, there is one at the Swan / Dolphin.

I am a BWV owner, and have always found the bus transportation to MK less than satisfactory. I couldn't see driving my car to MK making the wait any less though since you still have to take the Monorail from MK to the Transportation Center, get into line for the shuttle trams to the parking lot, and then still drive back to the resort...

The AK busses haven't been so bad that they've been noticeable.

I love the idea about getting into Epcot a bit early (or later) to use the Monorail to go to MK!! :Pinkbounc

Another option would be to walk to MGM and hop the bus to the MK from there.

If I could find any faults about BWV, it would be the bus situation to MK... But all in all, I don't find it to be that much worse than the times that I stayed at any of the All Stars resorts... I would much rather stay in my 2BR villa with slow busses, than stay in the AS's with medicore busses.

I wonder with the fourth AS resort opening soon if Disney will expand the bus routes there, or if all four resorts will be riding the same bus? :earseek:

As a BWV owner I find this situation very disturbing and totally unacceptable - perhaps someone can figure out a way to forward this entire thread to the new executive in charge of DVC, Jim Lewis?

When I was there in October, Swan and Dolphin were once again separate buses from/to both MK and AK. We never stopped at Swan or Dolphin on any bus ride.
You were very lucky during your trip then. We were there the last week of October and every bus returning from the parks stopped at the non Disney Swan/Dolphin first.

I have to agree that transportion for the Epcot resort area is quite unacceptable.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't it be easy for Disney to just reverse the route for pick-ups? Pick up at BW, BC, YC, then at Dolphin and Swan in that order? This way Disney is servicing THEIR resort paying customers and DVC'ers first.

For return routes, especially from the MK at closing, let the Swan/Dolphin have their own buses.

That would be a good idea except then the busses would have to make a left turn into and out of each resort which may not be as time efficient.

With the exception of having to stand on a bus to MK for EMH last summer, we have been lucky not to have any transportation issues when staying at BCV or BWV. I guess we were used to multiple stops and crowded busses because we usually stayed at CBR or CSR before joining DVC.
