What are the differences between standard and preferred views at the boardwalk? (I've also heard mention of "pool view" and "BW view", are those standard or preferred?)

Are the standard view rooms substantially worse (OK, I realize worse may be subjective, but I guess I'm not sure why they'd warrant less points.) Are they noisier than the preferred view rooms? Or is it just that the view of the BW is so great, some people are happy paying more for it.

The easiest to explain in the Boardwalk View. This is a guarenteed view that overlooks the Boardwalk and the lake. It is about 20% of the View.

The VAST majority of Standard View rooms overlook the porticullis and drive - so you see the "front" of the Boardwalk Inn. They are perfectly nice views - some of them are superior to preferred view rooms. They are another approximately 20% of the resort.

Because both these types are bargains, and a small (relative) number of rooms, they tend to book faster than the preferred view rooms.

Preferred View rooms are the same number of points as a Boardwalk View without the guarenteed view. They may overlook the theme pool or the quiet pool or face the canal. They are generally "the rest of the resort.

Boardwalk views are where the letters H-M are....standard view are the left side of the pink area ABOVE the lobby (the orange area), and everything else is preferred view.

Sometimes the Standard View rooms are pretty nice b/c you can see some of Illuminations which is a plus. I've yet to be lucky enough to get a Boardwalk view, but I've been very satisfied w/ the other views (preferred/standard).

standard view - you will see the drive way or parking lot.

BW view - the bw

all others - anything not above. (lagoon view, pool view)

We had a standard view which overlooked the front entrance, valet area, etc. It was actually quite pretty, especially when all lit up at night.

We have also had a preferred view - our room was directly over the art gallery store. Very nice view - could hear the honk, honk of the Friendship boats.

You really can't go wrong with either.

We stayed in a standard view room in June--what a great deal! We don't spend a lot of time on the balcony, so it really didn't matter to us. Our view was of the grounds/circular driveway in the front of the resort. It was very quiet and certainly not ugly like a dumpster view may be.
