Boardwalk View at BWV

We have requested a Boardwalk View for our upcoming trip in Dec. I'm wondering how noisy it is at night. I have a 4 year old and I don't want her woken up. If the slider is shut, is it noisy?

Thanks

yes it can be pretty quiet - just depends - if you are staying in a 2-bedroom - in the 2nd bedroom(studio part) - put her in the bed - not the sofa bed.

however I think she will sleep fine - WDW is so exciting that the kids are generally so tire that fireworks could go off and not wake them up!

the problem is that the view is just so wonderful that you want the door open - then you can definitely hear the noise.

The only real noise complaints that I've seen regarding Boardwalk have been related to the first Saturday in June. My guess is that you'd be fine in the month of December.

You can not request a Boardwalk view any more, it is a guareanteed room category. If you have just a preferred room, you'll be facing either Luna Park, quiet pool, or the canal between BWV and S/D. If you do have a Boardwalk view reservation, yes the Boardwalk rooms do have some noise. We didn't have much people noise with the sliders closed, but heard TONS of noise from the carnival games and Friendship boats. The buzzer from the carnival games kept going off every few minutes, and it did get annoying after awhile, but it won't stop us from booking a BW View room again. We were on the 5th floor, so the closer to the BW, I'm sure the more noise associated with it.

We thought it was noisy - and not the first week in June either - middle of October before F&W started last year. I also had a four year old. She was so tired she slept through the noise, but it was noisier than I would have liked. Particularly the fireworks - although I don't know that there would be a room in the Epcot area that wasn't noisy when fireworks were going on - but also just the people coming and going, the noise from the games, the noise from the street entertainment.

So, while it didn't bother the kids - it bothered me - but some of what bothered me was worry that it would wake the kids (if you know what I mean).

I do have a BWV reservation so I assume we will have one. The fireworks didn't bother DD when we had an Epcot view at the BCV so I guess we will be OK.
Thanks!

"I do have a BWV reservation so I assume we will have one"

That is the other posters point - just having a BWV reservation doesn't mean you have a BW view. It has to say BoardWalk view on it. If it says Pool/Garden view, then you don't have it.

I have stayed BW view twice - once on 5th floor over Crest of the Wave and once on 2nd floor just past the general store. Although you could hear some noises from the BW and the fireworks, I found neither as objectionable as the time I had the BW Main Pool view and it was noisy from late night swimmer/screamers, or the time I was at OKW under a grand villa.

I thought I made myself clear, but I guess not.

My reservation DOES says Boardwalk View.

At the 7th month mark, is it difficult to get a boardwalk view?
There have been many who reported here having success at getting a BW view at the 7 month mark. But it is a matter of luck and probably reflective of how full the resort is in general.

Now a Standard View at 7 months....that can be a lot tougher! But still is often accomplished.

I do have a BWV reservation so I assume we will have one.
I think some might have thought you meant BoardWalk Villas instead of BW View when you typed this.

Not impossible, but pretty close. If you're traveling at a non-busy time for DVC, like summer, you might have a chance. I did get one at the 7 month window fur last July. We LOVED the BW View so much we never wanted to take a chance, so we bought more ponts at BWV to get that guaranteed view. If you really want it, you do need the 11 month window most of the time.

The bells from the carny games can be annoying and they run until 11pm I think... but after a while, I found I didnt really notice them anymore.

Crowd noise was never an issue with us.... SOmetimes at 2 am or whenever Jellyrolls closes, we heard some people having a good time.... but we were up at the time...

We have stayed in BW view rooms, we love it! No, we did not find it noisy at all, but we had a 5th floor room. Enjoy it, it's beautiful.

My one experience (so far) trying to reserve a BW view at 7 months says it must be difficult (at least for a 1 BR). I tried to reserve for January, which I thought would be a slow time and therefore not a problem. Ended up on the waiting list. However, the waiting list came thru a month ago, so BW view here we come!
