Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum and have a question on Boardwalk Parking. This trip in September we have reservations at Flying Fish for dinner and then want to go over to Epcot for Illuminations. I know the hotels at boardwalk won't let us leave the car for more than a few hours as we are staying off site. I was wondering if we pay for Valet parking if that allows unlimited time. The original plan was to park at Epcot and walk but I got to thinking about parking at Boardwalk and have been searching. I see different opinions and if valet parking costs the same as park parking, I'll take the valet and save the steps. We won't be going to any of the parks during that day, just dinner and iiluminations.

Thanks!

When you drive into the Boardwalk area, they will ask you for your ID and check to see if you have ressie's at the Boardwalk, if you don't, you are given a Pass to park in the overflow parking lot for a certain amount of hours for your dinner ressie.

I do have confirmed reservations at Flying Fish. Will I be ok leaving my car there for the evening while we go to Illuminations and stroll the Boardwalk?

We have done this many times. They check ID and info. We said we were having dinner and spending time in the area and never had a problem. We always love shopping and walking after a nice meal at the Flying Fish! One evening, we left at 10:30.

If this is during F&W you may have a little more difficulty then other times of the year, just a FYI.

If you valet park you will be ok, but if you try to self park you will have to go to the overflow lot. I think there is a charge for the valet, but I am not sure since it's our DVC home resort so we don't pay.

Are you just planning to watch the Illuminations fireworks from the Boardwalk area? I'm assuming you realize that Illuminations takes place inside Epcot so if you really want to experience it, you need to enter Epcot.

No, We were planning on going into Epcot thru the International gateway. That was my point. Can I leave the car there and go into Epcot and not be concerened about it being towed or something. From what I read here, I can valet park and not really worry about it. We intend to explore the Boardwalk area, which for some reason we have never done, and then just go into Epcot for the Fireworks. For the $3 difference between 4 day and 5 day tickets, we thought this would be the ideal time. We plan on spending a whole day at Epcot earlier in the week and skip the show to beat the crowd out somewhat.

Parking at BW is not provided for park access....not even if you have ADRs at BW. Parking there is fine while you eat. If you choose to park there, for park access, then you might want to just head to the parking area across the street from the BW, behind the Hess Station. But, it's a hike back to the resort.
If you pay to valet park, you are then free to head to a park. This is what I would recommend.
You may very well be able to get away with parking at BW in the resident guest parking lot. But that is no different than parking at the Polynesian or CR in order to access MK. It takes away parking spots from those who are paying to stay there.
So...do what you will. I have asked at valet, at BW, CR, Polynesian, if it's permissable to pay to valet park and then head to a park. All have said that is fine. But self-parking does not give you that 'right'. Although many do exactly that. I just figured I would let you all know what they say at the resort level.

I guess my intentions were misread here. I am not trying to avoid fee's or anything, just save some time and walking. The thread title is about the valet parking at Boardwalk, not the self park. I had no intention of parking at one of the resorts. I was just making sure that I would have no problem with the valet and then go into the park.

Thanks for the help.

Please, don't misunderstand me. I wasn't really responding to you, but to others that said it's perfectly fine to park at the resort and then spend the day or night at Epcot. You didn't mention self-parking, others did, and that's what I meant to reply to...sorry for any misunderstanding.
What you want to do is absolutely the correct thing to do.

So is it permitted to park Valet at the Boardwalk for the entire day to tour DHS and then eat at ESPN and then leave.

Also, is it permitted to Valet park at the Wilderness Lodge...go to the MK for the entire day and then eat at Whispering Canyon and then leave.
