Need help deciding which part of the Boardwalk Villas to request for 3 studio villas in 2017. Want to be close to main building and to Epcot entrance. TIA!!
Here's a map of the BWV side of the resort. The walkway to Epcot would be underneath the legend in the upper right corner.Need help deciding which part of the Boardwalk Villas to request for 3 studio villas in 2017. Want to be close to main building and to Epcot entrance. TIA!!
Thank you for this! I am also staying in a BWV studio in 2017 (March) and was looking for info on room locations so I would have an idea what to request. We are staying via point rental and booked a Preferred Water/Garden view. Nice to have this arial perspective with the key to denote which category of room is where. Thanks again! Here's a map of the BWV side of the resort. The walkway to Epcot would be underneath the legend in the upper right corner.

You might want to keep in mind that the standard view villas that are close to the lobby are also close the the RAC luggage area. It can be very noisy in the morning when people are dropping off their bags for their return flights. If you have a garden view, then requesting a room overlooking the Village Green would put you near the lobby but asking to be near the lobby can also put you in a villa overlooking either of the pools. If you have a Boardwalk view, then you would just want to request "near lobby".
I wish that I knew who to credit for the map, but alas, it has been shared so many times over the internet that I don't know who the source might be.Thank you for this! Just a minor comment on your otherwise great input. There are actually 2 buildings in the BWV. The North Building and the South Building. There is only one building for the villas, with many hallways. I'm not sure what the room/view choices are for Garden/Preferred, but if you request close to lobby or close to elevators, that should put you close to the center of the building/main entrance, which is as close as you can get to the International Gateway entrance to Epcot...
The owner. But you can give the Touring Plans description to the owner (or rental broker) for that purpose. We will be staying at BWV with rented points.
Do we make a room location ourselves with online checkin or as I have done it, with faxed in request through my Touring Plans subscription? Or does the request get made by the owner of the points?

The north building extends along the Boardwalk to Jellyrolls and the south building extends back along the front of the building main entrance parking lot along the canal.

We stayed at BWV on rented points last weekend. We faxed our requests + a note about our anniversary via Touring Plans. We didn't note our requests any other way - but we got them, and there was an anniversary balloon in our room when we checked in.

One additional tip - the lobby is on the 2nd floor - that's the floor to get off the elevator for bus transportation (MK, AK, DS, and the waterparks). To get to Epcot or HS (by foot or boat), take the Villas elevator to the first/ground floor. You'll walk out past the healthclub to the courtyard between the Inn and Villas, which will get you to the boardwalk. Otherwise if you get off the elevator on the 2nd floor, you'll need to cross the lobby to the Inn side, where there's either stairs or another elevator to get you to the boardwalk - it's only a couple of extra minutes difference, but it took me several visits to realize this.

So, you didn't have to go through DVC owner or rental broker? I don't mind the extra step, but it would be nice not to have to bother the owner.
Since we have the confirmation number, I thought we might be able to do it ourselves.
Is Boardwalk View a bookable room type? All the charts I see lump them in with the other Preferred View rooms...
