Boardwalk room request

Does anyone have any recommendations for a standard view studio at Boardwalk? We are booking two standard view studios and have heard some people end up looking at dumpsters! Thanks!

True! Luckily I am using my DVC points which were paid off many years ago! So at least the bad view was paid for already!

Ah, there's a reason you can never get a standard view studio at BWVs...those that own at BW grab those standard studios as soon as the 11 month window opens!
I've never seen a dumpster anywhere near these studios.
Room location isn't going to vary much...upper or lower floor and close to elevators.

Are you mobile? I don't stay there often, but when I do, I ask for the farthest away standard view, near the walking path to DHS. I am about 2 doors away from the stairs down to the path to DHS, the quiet pool, the Community Hall, and the Clown Pool. Go thru there, up the stairs to the Boardwalk, and walk to Epcot. Much shorter than walking thru the hallways to get anywhere. As long as it isn't raining, it is a pleasant walk to anywhere.
Edit: Bonus info-I have stayed Boardwalk view all the way down by JellyRolls. People complain about the long walk, but it is the best Boardwalk View room, if you can stand the walk and the noise.

I think the rooms you are referring to are actually some on the Inn side I used to hear about.

Can you just put a "nice view" request on your reservation? I've stayed in standard view, BWV studios at least three times and we've never looked out over a dumpster. We typically oversee the DHS path with a view of the Swan.

The standard studios near the elevator are near the airport luggage check in. I've read complaints of noise on the dis for those rooms.

BWInn has hotel rooms or suites. BWVillas has villas (studios, one, two and three bedroom villas). If you are paying cash directly to Disney via Disney Reservation Center, a standard view is usually pool/garden. If you use points, a standard view is usually along the main drive of the resort.

I've stayed standard view with points many times and there is no dumpster. The only dumpster I saw was in a garden view on the end near Jellyrolls.

For standard view, I request top floor, across from the bus stop. Unless blocked by trees, you can see the high fireworks from Illuminations.
