Boardwalk preferred view - looking for photos

We have made a million changes to our vacation this year, and we have finally settled (I think - LOL!) on a week at Boardwalk, 1 bedroom, preferred view with our normal week at AKV.

We have been to Boardwalk lots of times, but never to stay, so we decided to stay here as we have almost completed our resort stay list (only have GF, Old Key West & Beach Club - although we stayed at Yacht Club last year - to go and we've done them all!).

We gave up Beach Club, as we are taking the kids to Sea World/Aquatica water park a few times, so we didn't really want to spend tons of time at SAB (our DD didn't want to leave last year), so we picked Boardwalk. After reading tons of reviews over the years, I know that Preferred view doesn't seem to be 'preferred' - pardon the pun!

Here are my questions:

1. Does anyone have any photos of Preferred views?
2. Are the rooms at BWV being refrbished now?
3. Should we ask for a specific area?

I have a baby who will be turning 2, a DD just turned 6 and my hubby and myself.

Thanks, Tiger :)

I don't have photos, but if you have taken the boat from HS to BC, the rooms at BWV you see facing the canal are the preferred garden/pool view rooms. Some face the quiet pool, some face the "clown" pool and some face just the canal.

Those facing the clown pool are closest to the elevators but may also be the noisiest. You can also request a room on the first floor, the elevator may not be as improtant to you. Have a great stay. -- Suzanne

We always book BW view but once we had this preferred view when we booked too late to get BW view. We liked it:

Thanks to all - those photos are nice! We aren't really picky at all, but we don't want to be stuck behind trees or staring at pavement as our DD loves her pool views! We sometimes just sit outside for some quiet meditation and so the view is a little important in that respect.

I have been reading up on DVC Mike's thread, but he posted photos of standard and boardwalk views - I haven't seen any preferred views on there? Off to go check it out again.

Thanks again for all photos and info! Tiger :)

If you don't want to be stuck behind trees, ask for a high floor. Several DISers have posted that their "preferred view" was of the tree limbs. -- Suzanne

We've already done that as we prefer higher floors with the baby - we don't like having patios as we really can't go outside much with the kids.

Thanks so much, Tiger

I know some people with small kids love having a first floor units so that the adults can sit on the patio and let the kids runs wild in the great outdoors. Of course, some units are better for this than others and which you get is mostly the luck of the draw. -- Suzanne
