We finally closed and received membership details/title for our resale around the unfortunate incidents of September 2001. Since then I have posted...little and watched from afar. ..but now we are all excited.......

We were planning on going next Fall 2002 but .......caved in and bought flights to the US for Jan. Planning on 2 nights at Boardwalk and 5 nights in Vero. Rang MS this week and got all I wanted immediately. Awesome!!!

What would YOU recommend doing for your first night on the Boardwalk? dining choices, fireworks, resort activities. In fact what do YOU actually do. We will get to resort at about 5.30pm.

All ideas would be greatly welcomed.

Thanks again

Jaga

The Boardwalk is our home resort, we love to hit the pool after the long flight from the UK. For food, well it depends on what you want, for the first night we like Spoodles, no fuss. Then a walk round the lake, catch the fireworks and just chill at our home away from home.

:)

We always have to go to Epcot and see Illuminations our first night - but we have APs so we don't feel like we are "wasting" a day's admission. BWV is our "home" resort too. There is a lot to do around the boardwalk. There are great restaurants in each of the hotels. We like the buffet at Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club, really enjoy Yachtsmens Steakhouse at the Yacht Club, and also like the pizza from the pizza window at the BW. If you really want to "crash" your first night, the pizza is great to take up to the room. My husband and son like to eat at ESPN club, especially if a game is on that they are interested in. Ice Cream from Beaches n Cream or the sweet shop on the boardwalk is always good, too! If you are full of energy, you could hit DD and either shop or go to one of the great restaurants there. No matter what you do, I am sure you will enjoy staying at the BW. Have fun and happy planning!

Jaga,

If you don't want to use a day on your passes, I suggest walking over to the International Gateway at EPCOT to "watch" Illuminations from outside the park. It's not a great view, but you can see some of the fireworks and can hear the music quite well.

You can also get a quick meal and a variety of beers at the Big River Grill on the BW followed up with dessert at the Sweet Shop or, if you want to walk a little, at Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club resort. You can get a table at B&C. It's a great walk around the lagoon there if the weather is warm enough. The hot fudge sundaes are great at both locations. :D

There's also a small lounge in the BWI called "The Radio Room" (I think) that serves a variety of coffees and desserts and drinks. At least, they did when we were there last. There's also a "coffee cart" on the BW.

I can recommend the BW Bakery for take-out items if you want to have your dessert back at your room or get some great pastry for breakfast.

The Flying Fish on the BW is an excellent, but pricey, place for a romantic dinner. The potato wrapped Red Snapper is outstanding!

You will love VB DVC, too. Be sure to go to the Green Cabin Room for drinks and/or dessert. You can sit outside and have a great view of the ocean!

I look forward to hearing your impressions after your trip. After your trip, I would be willing to bet that you will be glad that you joined. :)

When we have APs we do epcot just to get into the swing of things. I love tapestry.

In fact the more I think it's all great at the Boardwalk and at Vero Beach. Can't wait till I get back to my homes in July!!!!!

:D

JELLYROLLS

It is the most adult fun you have have on the Boardwalk!

Before you go, stop by the ESPN Zone for a wonderful steak and cheese. Mmmmmmmmmm good!

We had a great time in the evening just catching something quick to eat on the Boardwalk and enjoying the constant parade of entertainers on the street. They were really good and our little one loved them!

I might or might not(depending on the weather)take a quick dip in the pool, then I'd walk around the World Showcase in Epcot, having a little snack at each of the different countries(this would be in place of a sit down, time-wasting dinner!), watch the parade and IllumiNations, and then go to Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk for a while to end my evening.

Ahhhhhhhhh...bliss!!!!!!!!!!!
