My husband and I like to go to Jellyrolls..... It's a dueling piano bar. $12 cover pp but the guys there are hilarious! There's also the Atlantic Dance Company but it always looks pretty empty when we pass by
The Boardwalk isn't as busy as Dowtown Disney but usually has enough going on to burn at least an hour or two there. They usually have buskers roaming the boardwalk as well as midway games and a couple of interesting restaurants and bars. Jellyrolls is especially fun!
I am not sure it is a lot of cool stuff. I found it to be more of a morning and evening convenience for the Epcot resort guest, but open to anyone interest in visiting. More of a distraction then an attraction in the scheme of managing park crowds. Not sure I would travel here from a non-Epcot resort. If staying at an Epcot resort it provides easily accessible "right outside your door" offering dining, basic shopping and some entertainment. Very handy after evening swims or dinner.
I usually stay at an Epcot area resort, BWI is my favorite. I would not call the area "cool". I would not travel to the boardwalk from a non-Epcot resort just to see it. You can walk out the international gateway of Epcot one evening and check it out if you want. I couldn't see spending more than an hour there. I can walk the lake loop is 16 minutes.
Hi =). The boardwalk is a beautiful place to visit! Lots of cool shops, a bakery, restaraunts and bars, and entertainers. We make a point to go every trip just to enjoy the ambiance. We much prefer it to downtown disney. Hope this helps
I love BW....that's the one place my dh said he would consider buying into DVC at...which we did, sight unseen.
But, do I recommend that people head over there, at night, for the activities? Nope. Disney made some cutbacks shortly after we bought there. There just wasn't as much going on. There can be jugglers, or magicians performing at night. Or, musicians. But, really? Other than that? Not much. There are a few carnival type games. And while there are shops there, none of them is very distinctive. Pretty much the same stuff you can get anywhere else at WDW.
So, sure, if you're at either Epcot or DHS and want to kill an hour or so, head over.
I like Jellyrolls as well...but it is for the over 21 group, which limits it for families. And there is no food there..other than popcorn.
