I just booked a trip and I'm staying at the Boardwalk Inn. I paid for a Waterview, but told the person on the phone that I don't want a view of the swimming pool, I want a view of the Boardwalk/Crescent Lake. She said she added that to the request. I guess I'm not that comfortable with the word "request". If I'm paying that much money for a stay at the Boardwalk Inn, I don't want to end up by the pool. I would think they can look at their reservations and tell me if the room I want is available and the view I want is "booked" not "requested" Has anyone had any problems with getting a Boardwalk view? We'll be there from first week of September...Or am I just overreacting?

Welcome to the Dis Fuzzylogic:wave: Call back and you will get a different CM. They can explain what you may get (or not get).
We were at BWI just a few weeks ago and liked it a lot(we didn't have a view request though).

Welcome to the DIS! :wave2:

As far as specific room views go, Disney always looks at those as requests. The term "waterview" and what exactly that means varies from resort to resort. Some resorts consider views of any sort of water (from pools to lakes to lagoons) to be water views, and some resorts don't look at pool view rooms as water view rooms. Since some people do want rooms that overlook the pool and others want Crescent lake views, I think you did just the right thing by requesting it on your reservation. Though requests are never guaranteed, Disney does their best to accomodate all requests--after all, they want happy vactioners. Enjoy your stay at the BoardWalk Inn--it's a wonderful resort! :)

I may be totally wrong, but I think the only way to guarantee a BW view is to book a deluxe concierge room, as the BWI only has two view categories: standard and water. All of the deluxe concierge rooms have a BW view. In September, though, I'd assume you have a great shot at getting the room you want. I may not be correct, though.

If I were you I would do what another poster recomended, call back and talk to someone else. Sometimes you get someone really helpful, other times you get someone not willing to go above and beyond basic job duties. It also depends on the timeof day you call also. I usually call in the early am, or really late. Call volume is less then.

You have chosen my favorite place to stay! The pool for the BWI is seen from the villas side , not the Inn side. Your water view room will be of Crescent Lake, however it may not be a front on view. You may have a room thet overlooks the courtyard and a partial view of the lake. The quiet pool rooms are considered standard view or garden view, depening on your floor. All concierge deluxe rooms have a bW view but these rooms are usually on the 4th, sometimes 5th floor. You are going to love your stay there. It is a beautiful resort with many great places to eat and have fun.

As soon as I get back from this upcoming trip, I'm going to plan a trip to BWI. It sounds like a fun, active place. I love reading anything I can about BWI, since I've never stayed there before. I want a Crescent Lake view, too!

Here's the description in the reservation system:

Room Type: Water / Pool View Room
All rooms have two queen-size beds or one king-size bed, table and chairs, ceiling fan, vanity area with two sinks, and bath. Some rooms offer day bed and private balcony. Non-smoking and disabled-accessible rooms are available. Amenities include in-room wall safe, voice mail, data port on phone, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and refrigerator (upon request). Water/Pool View Rooms offer views of a lake and the boardwalk.

I don't understand why they call it water/pool view if it's just on the lake side.
