My family and I are planning a trip to Disney World in July. We stayed at the Polynesian in October 2001 and absolutely loved it. My kids (ages 14 and 11) want to try something new. The Beach Club and Yacht Club look great with the pool, but I am leaning towards the Boardwalk Inn for nighttime activities. Any ideas or suggestions from you guys would be great! Also, we may even splurge and do the concierge at one of these places. Which did you guys prefer, if a preference, and did the water view at the Boardwalk overlook the lake and the boardwalk? Thanks:)

Even if you stay at the Beach and Yacht Club for your night time activities all you would have to do is hop on the boat that takes you across the lake to the boardwalk.

We just stayed at the BWI this past July and loved it. We have stayed at the BC, Poly(twice), off property, Port Orleans Resort - Riverside ,and I now think my favorite is the BWI. We had a view of Epcot on the 3rd floor of the main bldg. This was perfect. I enjoyed being able to get a quick bite right outside the hotel in the AM at the Bakery. Any time of day you can eat, which helps with my 3 picky daughters who are never hungry at the same time.or for the same thing. The pool was alot of fun with it's long winding slide. My girls are 9, 13, and 15. They enjoyed walking on the Boardwalk and going to the Community center to play ping pong and airhockey. The walk to Epcot is very short, but we took the boat to MGM because the walk was to long.

what late night options do they have for eating at the boardwalk and how late is it open? I'm going in Nov, do the restaurants and/or lounges close early then?

Late night eating on the Boardwalk would be anything from quickie stuff like take out window at Spoodles, hot dog cart, ice cream shop, bakery treats to full fledged sit down meals at Flying Fish. In between you have ESPN or Big River. We were there in early Feb. also a "slower" season and things seemed to wind down around 11-12:00.

We really liked the BWI and plan to stay there again but it is true what people say about YC/BC just being a short hop from the BW nightlife. It is a very short and lovely walk around the lake or over on the boat. We ate breakfast one day at Cape May and used the kids club there. We stayed at the Poly our first family trip too and loved it but now that we've stayed in the Epcot area we'd never go back.:)
