I'll make this short, as you already have many responses! We stayed at the Boardwalk 2 weeks ago for 4 nights. Here are my thoughts:
1. Our room was located near the quite pool, and it was quite the whole week! Kids prefer the large, themed pool, so the quite pool is great for adults, or honeymooners.
2. I didn't like the lack of counter service options. The Boardwalk Bakery was ok for getting pasteries in the morning, but we prefer more substantial breakfast items, like eggs, and waffles.
3. Which leads to this: We ended up eating at Spoodles twice for breakfast. The food was great, even though we couldn't afford to eat here every morning!
4. Flying Fish: We had dinner here, and it was amazing! I highly reccomend getting an ADR for this restaurant.
5. This wasn't really a problem, but there was a situation with the Disney buses at the Boardwalk. One night we were waiting for a DTD bus, and after 25 minutes one showed up. The driver pulled up, and opened the doors for people to get off at the Boardwalk. Well no one got off. So he told us the bus was full and he couldn't take any passengers. We were instructed to wait for another DTD bus. Another 25 minutes later another shows up, and we go thru the same thing!! (BTW, we weren't the only ones waiting for a DTD bus. By this time, there were over 15 of us!) So the second driver told us to wait for another DTD bus......

After 50 minutes of wasting time, I tell my husband that we should boat over to the Dolphin, and bus to Downtown Disney from there.
So I just reccomend you research the transportation options at the Boardwalk so you can improvise if needed. (If I had known that the 2nd bus was going to be full too, I would have left the bus stop after 25 minutes, instead of waiting!)
That in it self didn't ruin my trip. The Boardwalk is a wonderful resort and I'm glad we stayed there!
