Boardwalk Inn - Water View

I am thinking of a trip in October and would love to have a lake or boardwalk view at Boardwalk Inn. On the online reservation system, it shows a rate for water/pool view. In the description, it says water/pool view rooms offer a view of a lake and the boardwalk. Has anyone paid for a water view and had a view of the quiet pool, which is inside the courtyard, not on the lake side? I'm willing to pay extra for the water view, but I want to be able to sit out and see the lake or boardwalk, not the pool. I know some water views are over the courtyard on the Boardwalk side.

I'm interested in the answer to this, as well. We have a waterview room booked at the BWI for the end of this month. I asked the CM for a Boardwalk view and she said she would make a note of it. They never promise, of course, but I'm hopeful.

I love the idea of watching people on the Boardwalk. I'm not going to worry about it being noisy. It's only four days and I'm sure it can't be too bad.

Can't wait!

I know when they say 'water' view it can mean anything - at the Boardwalk Villa's, it could mean the lake, the river facing the Swan or the pools. I think all you can really do is make a request for a boardwalk view, and again ask when you check in.

Good luck!

We had one of those water view rooms that faced the courtyard and half the lake. At first we were a little disappointed but over the course of the week we were very happy with our location. It had the best of both worlds, the courtyard area is very pretty and quiet and the half of the lake and BW we saw had great ambiance. We could still see and hear much of the evening entertainment. Our room was above the Bellview Lounge area and close to the elevators.

Boardwalk waterview -

Hi, DebbieB,
We, like vicb, were in a room overlooking both the courtyard and the boardwalk/lake (twice actually), and the view was great! We were able to sit on our balcony and watch the friendship boats make their rounds, and the activity on the boardwalk below. Their was very little noise that filtered up to the fifth floor and with the door closed, none at all. We will be there again starting this July 4th, but may be staying in a standard room this time.
The Inn, we believe, is a fantastic place to spend a WDW vacation at, do to its location; within walking distance to two parks, a large selection of restaurants (Beaches & Cream thru Flying Fish and all of World Showcase), and four other resorts.
The Inn itself is beautiful. If you can, take time to enjoy the Bellevue Lounge, both for a continental breakfast in the AM and something a little stronger to wind down the day in the late evening.
We can walk eight blocks from our house and be on a boardwalk overlooking the Atlantic ocean. Maybe that is one of the reasons we enjoy the Inn so much - a sense of the familiar. Anyway, have a most magical time!!! Bob

Hi. We have been seriously thinking about splitting our next trip between AKL and BWI. In another forum I was reading the poster stated that at the BW Villas you can only request a boardwalk view because a water view does include the pool. But at Boardwalk Inn all water views are of the boardwalk. The quiet pool is considered part of the standard views. So this is not actually true then? We would have to "request" a boardwalk view and take our chances of getting it? Thanks to anyone who can clear this up for me. I notice that there is very little posted about BWI. Is there a reason no one stays there? I have been enchanted by this resort ever since it first opened.

Boardwalk Inn -

Hi, again,

Disney Freaks - if you go to the beginning of this forum you will see a Resort FAQ thread - click on and then click on BWI, Much info, but don't spread it around as it is nice to keep the Inn a half a secret. I forgot to mention in my previous post, the pool is also great. A water view (lake) and a boardwalk view go together to the best of my knowledge. It can't be the main pool as that is on the villa side - open to all, of course. Have a most magical trip!! Bob

Thanks for the info! I have stayed at the Boardwalk Inn for 1 night last Dec, the next day we moved to the Boardwalk Villas for 6 nights with DVC points. We had a standard view at the Inn and it faced the walkway to the bus stop. :( But we really loved the room and the boardwalk area. I would just love a room looking out at the boardwalk or lake. We never had one at the villas either, we usually get standard.

I'm just kind of in the "I had a brainstorm" stage, it may not even happen, there's alot going on in my life that makes it difficult to plan. It's those darn AP's, they call out from their storage box "take me, take me" ;)

That FAQ for Boardwalk Inn is terrific. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Bob. And rest assured the secret of this wonderful resort is safe with me. LoL Thanks again.

When we stay at the boardwalk...I call 407wdisney to make my reservation....get the waterview room and in the notes...request boardwalk view.

Haven't ever had any problems...views have been great from every room we have been in.

I have also noticed how there doesn't seem to be a lot of postings about the BWI. My theory is this...(again, just a theory)...I have never stayed there, but have been in it and had drinks in the really neat lounge. I think it is an enchanting place and would really love to stay there some time. I think obviously many who go to WDW have kids and the pool is a big draw for them. The BWI is around the same price as the YC and BC, but they have a really cool pool. The BWI only has a quiet pool, and access to the villas pool, but that can be quite a hike, depending on where your room is. So, I THINK people opt for YC or BC if they are to spend the same amount of money. Otherwise, I can't figure it out...I love the location and think it is so charming there!

The reason you don't see many postings about the BWI is because people who stay there want to keep it "Their own little secret."
ssshhhhhh!:D
