boardwalk grand villas questions

I am hoping to resolve some questions for anyone familiar with the BWV grand villas -

I've been reading that these were under renovation - is this still the case?

Are the balconies usually clean or in need of a powerwash!

Where exactly are all 7 located. (specifics greatly appreciated)

Which provide the best view of the fireworks - for which park!

Which provide the easiest walk to get to anywhere within the resort - ie elevators/pool/boardwalk/boat launch.

If you needed to get an adjacent studio would that be possible?

And if you aren't a DVC member you have a slim to none chance of getting one. They go right away at the 11 month mark.

Sounds difficult! Have you had any personal experience with this?
I am in the process of trying to have a DVC member reserve one of these for me - is there any way to better my chances?

As you did post this on the DVC board and got responses to most of your requests, I deal here only with the difficulty issue. There are only 7 GV's at BW. BWV owners can start reserving rooms 11 months out. GV's are very difficult to get unless the BWV owner actually starts calling early in the morning 11 months out. What they do at exactly 11 months out is call and reserve one day and then the next day call and reserve the 2d day etc. as otherwise if you wait any time at all beyond the 11 month window for a day someone else will reserve. Thus, to assure getting one, you need the member who is renting to you to follow that day by day reserving beginning 11 months from when you want to go. Note, that does not mean you can never get one by reserving fewer months out as cancedllations do occur opening up a GV for someone else.
