Boardwalk games

I believe they are 250 points ($2.50) a game. You actually have to put money on a card at a machine and then the card is what you use to pay for games with "points". You can put different denominations on the card. I believe the lowest is 500 points ($5.00) up to 5,000 points ($50.00) and you can always recharge the card.

Are they extremely hard to win like regular carnival games?

I think these ones are a bit easier. If you want a guaranteed prize, the fishing game will always give you at least a little dinky stuffed animal as a consolation prize. For the racing games, I think you have to have at least 3 people to play a game, but that means you have a 1 in 3 chance of winning.

We love playing these! We always do a $20 card so it gives us each 2 games. We always try to play a game that all 4 of us can play together without anyone else joining. That way we are guaranteed to get something for the kids. Do that twice and they both get one regardless of who wins in our group. They love it! The prizes are pretty decent so you can't beat two stuffed Disney characters for $20 in my opinion.

Thanks everyone for the information, we have always passed by and never thought to play but it sounds like fun!!
Where is the machine located to get the card?

OK, sounds like we may have to try some this time! Especially the fishing one for my 2 year old :) What are the typical prizes they hand out? Your usual cheap carnival type stuffed animals?

The small prizes my son won were Bullseye and Sebastian-we gave these to kids at our church(saw a Bullseye this morning and we gave those out last December). My son also won a medium sized Mickey in an explorer's outfit. So, not quite store bought quality but not as cheap as regular fair/carnival prizes.

Fun!! We will definitely have to give them a try!

I've always bypassed these too but it does sound fun. Maybe we'll try them out next time!

They are little, but *adorable*, especially for a girl or a little boy.

There are different rules for each game, and you should make sure you totally understand the rules. For the fishing game, you cannot trade the little toys for a big one. For most, if not all, of the other games, you can. There's a watergun game involving firetruck ladders. If you have 2 people playing, the winner gets Timothy mouse. If you have more you can win the Dumbo. BUT if you have 2 people and play two times, you can trade in the two Timothy's you would get for a Dumbo. Same sort of thing for the other games; I can't remember which game it was, but with another we got the dressed-up Mickey. There's a baseball themed game we won't even play (or won't play in order to trade up) because the trade-up prize is enormous, and we wouldn't be able to get it home. And it's something like a weiner dog in a bun costume, which isn't something we would even want.

Look at the games, look at the rules, look at the prizes, and create your strategy based on what prizes you want and how many people are in your group. The CMs working there totally understand that people want to get more bang for their buck, and we even had a CM close the game with DH and DS when others were walking up, because she knew we were working toward a trade-up and didn't want to spend more money than we had to.

I have played the fishing game a few times hoping for a big prize. If I don't win and get a little one (usually I pick the little duck in the inner-tube) I will give it to a kid that's wandering around the parks.
