This may not be important to many, but as a BWV owner I love to see the seasonal decorations. We just returned, and the decorations inside were okay-but there was no gingerbread display [last years was extensive!] and the outside Christmas tree that was lit every night last year was not there. I was looking forward to seeing both the gingerbread house display-created by the chef's similar to other DW resorts [Animal Kingdom, Grand Floridian, Vero Beach, VWL, etc]and the outside Christmas tree. Anybody else notice anything different about their favorite resort's decorations this year?

Don't know how reliable my sources are but when I was down last week, I was told that they do have problems with ants moving in so most of the gingerbread displays were being fazed out and there was no big tree outside of the lobby doors due to cut backs. Sad for us who luv to see it on our way to the boats or the parks. It was always a sight to behold.

I missed the tree outside the boardwalk too! I also missed the chocolate display that was there in 1999. We did find a chocolate carousel over at the yacht and beach club.

we only found 2 gingerbread houses this year..both were very large, and were store fronts for selling gingerbread houses, cookies etc. they were located at the grand floridian and the epcot american adventure.

We found all the decorations to be wonderful, but I agree, there did seem to be a little less this year, but what ever he cutbacks were, they certainly didn't dampen our holiday spirit!

Every year it seems like WDW cuts out something new from the holiday decorations. Last year we noticed that the Contemporay nolonger had the white lights on the columns replaced with the red and green lights. I used to remember most of the deluxe hotels having model trains set up in the lobby, not last year.

CLC,

We spent one night at BWV in a preferred view studio on 12/9 that looked out right onto the grassy area where the tree would have been. I had forgotten that was where the tree was last year. We did love the way the BW lobby was decorated and had a great time enjoying the decorations that were there during our five day visit. We spent the first three nights at our home resort, OKW, where the decoartions were also very nicely done. We really enjoy going "home" during this time of year. Wasn't the weather great!!!!! :D

The weather was great last week-I agree Paul-and certainly we loved our trip, had great service, enjoyed the parks and had a wonderful time.
Seems like we all have our favorite things we look forward too-so while I did miss them [esp. the tree!!]we were still glad to be there.

My wife and I were down 12/7 to 12/11 for our third xmas holiday time at WDW. We both felt that all over WDW the decorations were much less then we had seen the previous two times in 97 and 99.......spruce

I do agree with that-we love Christmas at Disney-and hope that in the future the decorations increase again.

Can't wait to get there in about 10 days. It will be interesting to compare it to December 1999 when we were there over Christmas. I am sure it will still be very magical.
