Boardwalk Bride's PJ Morocco/Canada/Attic/SCP updates 01/09!!

yay! everything is coming together so nicely! :thumbsup2 DF was peaking over my shoulder when I was reading your post and said "thats awesome!". I am a big fan of the cake and I really like the first hair.

Yay! It's so nice to see another Canadian bride, and one that is so close too! We're practically neighbours!

Sounds like we have a lot of the same vendors and such too! We're both Sea Breeze Point Brides and we both have Randy and Ron!

I love your colours! They are so bright and vibrant! We're using Bright Pink and Aqua. I would have never thought of putting Cherry Red with Aqua, but it looks fantastic!

I love your dress as well. It's so unique!

Congrats on getting your date!

wow!:woohoo: congrats on getting it all put down on paper!! (hoping for the day i get to do the same) i am really loving you carnival theme! it will go perfect with the location and reception. i wouldnt change a thing! :goodvibes

but as for hair i like picture #1! its fun, flirt, but dressy, and kinda goes with the feel of the wedding.

Thanks ladies :goodvibes

Honestly once you put everything together like that it looks amazing! I am sooo jelouse! your wedding is going to be so much fun!!! Can I come?
I love the cotton candy cones and any of those hair styles will look great! Good job hun!

Thanks, I hope it is fun! And I might need you to come....I think we are loosing 3 people (which are the 3 I am fine with loosing anyway)! :rotfl:

Thanks a lot! I really like the first one too! The only problem is, I went through a week of depression (or what I like to call soul searching :rotfl:) at the end of April, and I ended up cutting my really long hair off....so hopefully I can grow it back on time!!

if not they can always put in an extension for the day! thats what i'm doing :)

Ohhh, I might do that either way!!! Are you buying your own ahead of time? My hair is a really odd colour right now...but I am going back to dark brown for the wedding, as I think it looks best on me, so it shouldn't be too hard to find matching extensions.

I have the same issue with my hair right now. I'm going back to dark brown for the wedding as well. (been trying to strip red and black out forever!) I will probably go buy my own or my hair dresser will. I am using a family member to do my hair so she has connection in getting pieces. I am doing a temporary one, other wise they have to like sew it in and stuff. My hair is crazy lengths right now as well...so I have stopped cutting it and hope all evens out. When I go home in December I will meet with my hair dresser and know more!

Everything looks amazing!!!!! Your theme is soooooo perfect- I just love it! I love both the first and second hair! If you do go with extensions I believe that Patricia does them (atleast it says so on her website) it sounds like they're the ones that are removable with little clips. My friend used to have that type and LOVED them- you should check it out (I've thought about doing them as well :idea:but am still hoping my hair will get long enough so haven't gotten the details yet:rolleyes:)

Yay! Loving the recap. I am a tad bit jealous of your colors!!!

Thanks....I think everyone is jealous of some parts of everyone's planning :rotfl: I totally would love to have an Animal Kingdom reception with Animal Print cake!!!

Thank you so much!! That's good to know Patricia does them. My hair is past my shoulders now, and it does grow quick, but I have so many short layers that I am scared they would fall out of the braid. BTW-I am working on catching up on your PJ. I am only on page 10, but I am hoping to finish this afternoon!

I know I talked about this before, but we finally opened a $US account. I know this is a boring update, but for any non-US brides, I hope this can help. We opened a US savings account (for any Canadians reading it was through Scotia) and as long as you keep a balance of $US 200, there are no fees at all. It even includes cheques and money orders at no extra cost. I am really loving it, because you cannot use the ATM, since it is "foreign currency" so once the money is in there, you can't get a hold of it until you go to the teller.

With our old savings account, we would always dip into it to treat ourselves to dinners out, or some sort of entertainment when we were feeling down, etc. So this account prevents it since it is a different currency, and we really can't use it to pay for anything else.

Sorry, I know I am rambling about a bank account, but I just think it is one of the smartest decisions we have made so far! I would really highly recommended it to anyone not from the states.

We are having some drama (not really drama but I can't think of another word) with the Trash the Dress shoot we booked with Randy. I cannot trash the dress I bought, since #1 it is so heavy I will drown, and #2, it is wayyyyyyyyyy too expensive to ruin. We were going to just do a photoshoot at AKL, since that is where we will be, but now it just seems unnecessary since we decided to do a MK and Epcot photo session.

So, we don't know what to do. Our options so far are:
1) Tell Randy the truth, I cannot trash my current dress, and we really don't need more wedding portraits. See if he can put the deposit from it towards our ceremony photography, or add an hour to it.
2) Buy a cheap dress and trash it...it will be fun, although not the "real" dress
3) Just do the portraits at AKL with Randy, It's a good deal, and photos would look great (even though we will have sooooo many and will miss some time at the parks).

Any advice?

i would go with option number 2. i really want to do a trash the dress session as well but i also have a dress i really dont want to trash. i have thought about buy a cheap but nice little outfit to ruin just because i want a fun interesting photo shoot.

but if you with option #1 i do believe that randy said that all refund are 100% returnable and he maybe could just put it towards your current package. either way the money goes towards your photos.

I'd buy a cheap dress and get the TTD shots, they look awesome.

I love this wedding recap! Very organized. I really love your ideas, although personally I love the Flying Fish idea better, but to each her own, right :)

Honestly, I think all the photo options are viable. You may not need all those photos, but I think I'd prefer AK shots over Trash the dress. Can Randy still shoot in AK?

I was hoping people would tell me to do the opposite :rotfl: I REALLY want to do trash the dress, and your opinions make me want to stick to it!! I'm going to Toronto in a few weeks for back to school shopping (yes, I still do this even though I only have 2 classes) so I will see what I can find!

Thanks:goodvibes I really love the Flying Fish as well, but we really want to enjoy Florida weather, which would be better at the Attic. Plus, I love the view! Randy cannot shoot in AK, it would be at Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani. I saw in another thread (quite awhile ago) that it is better to get photos at one of the AK resorts, since they look relatively the same and you can use an outside photographer.

I am starting to wonder if we should just get rid of the Epcot photosession, and just do MK and trash the dress? Errrr, I don't know :confused3

Anyway, look what I just found!!

How perfect would it be for my theme!!???!!?? It probably is too heavy to be a cake topper, but it would be great decor! To bad it is $250!! I'm gonna keep searching for deals!

That is too cute! I love it! And it totally goes with your theme!

As for your photos, I'd either choose option #1, or get rid of the Epcot Shoot and do the AK photos instead.

love the recap, I think all the hairstyles are great but am leaning the most towards 3 because I would want my hair pulled away from my face, but that's just me.

On the photography, I'm probably in the minority but I would say see if you can get the money back or have it applied to your current package. If you're doing both MK and EP, you won't really need more wedding pics. I would probably keep EP since I've seen some pretty awesome pics come out of there.

But if you REALLY REALLY want to do the TTD, and it sounds like you do, you should do it.

That Ferris Wheel is too cute! Hope you can find a good deal on it!

So far no deals on the ferris wheel! I do have a few small updates:

I forgot to mention that we got DF his wedding band a few nights ago (although it is being custom made, so we won't see it for awhile). We both really love it, and I think we got a pretty good deal.

I dyed my hair back to dark brown today!!I think I wrote about this before, but in April I had the top bleached blonde, and it was cut all crazy lengths. The place I went to today was awesome! They gave me like a bunch of lessons on how to get my hair ready for the wedding..they were so cute! My hairdresser told me if I only wash my hair every third day, the natural oils that build up in my hair will promote growth. I also bought a bunch of expensive Aveda products, so hopefully those help as well!

I also found out today that I got 2 teaching assistant positions for undergrad classes for the fall. This means a lot of extra money I wasn't counting on!! We are hoping to save enough extra to have a rehearsal dinner at ESPN (although that shouldn't be too $$) and we would like to have an open bar at both events....so this news puts us a bit closer!

Oh, and maybe it means I can do all 3 photo sessions!

Hey Karen! Sorry I've been absent from your PJ for a few days. I love that ferris wheel! I will keep my eyes peeled for any deals I can find for you! :goodvibes Congrats on getting the teaching assistant jobs. Hopefully, you'll be able to save up enough extra $$$ for that rehearsal quickly. :wizard:

Ok first of all, I would cut the EPCOT shoot. I love EPCOT but the pics aren't as "Disney" as others...I mean they are gorgeous but normal people wouldn't know it's Disney. I think a trash the dress shoot is SO unique!!

Second of all, LOVE the carousel!!!

Yay for dyeying your hair brown...I am doing that before our next trip, kind of a chocolate color. And YAY for the teaching assistant positions!!

I would go with Option 2 and find a cheaper wedding dress or ANY dress for that matter for your trash the dress photo shoot. I think you would kick yourself in the bum if you don't do it. It will be fun and it is only an hour out of your day. The pictures would be amazing. You are already saving a ton of $ by having Randy do it compared to Disney. The Blizzard Beach shoot I am doing is $385...I count since it is in a park it is a little more compared to Randy's price. Plus I think he is flexible so if you decide not to do it, you could apply it to your outstanding balance or use an extra hour and go someplace and get more pictures. Are there any other locations you would like photos taken at? Also Randy will come back if his schedule is open and you could get night time shots somewhere.

I love the carnival theme! What a wonderful centerpiece that would have made. You are great with research. If you were to choose to do an AK shoot, are there specific pics you want? If not I would have Randy go around AKL and take some nice shots of you and your Husband.

Thanks:goodvibes And don't be sorry!! I know my PJ isn't always that exciting....I'm sure you have lots of other things to be doing (but I am glad you stop by:goodvibes)

Ya, I know what you mean with Epcot. We just are planning our whole lives around traveling (it's really our only goal in life) so we thought it could be cute to have pictures in like Norway, Germany and China (3 places we REALLY want to go) and than compare our wedding picture in the pavilion to the travel picture. I know it's not needed....I think I will put it into the back of my mind for now!

Your right...if I am ever going to to a trash the dress #1 this is the time to do it and #2 this is the place to do it!! I think I posted wrong previously, I hadn't planned on doing a AK park shoot, I meant to write AKV-Kidani. I am going to post some pictures of Kidani, maybe that will help make my decision!

Here is the lobby:
KidaniLobby04.jpg

There is a huge kids water area...I thought it would be super cute for TTD photos:

kidini1.jpg

kidani5.jpg

These pictures don't even do it justice...it is a massive play area!! I thought it would be cute to do some under the little waterfall, and near the squirty things

Here are pool pictures:

kidani4-1.jpg

kidani2.jpg

It is really beautiful and unique, so it would make some good pictures. UGGHH I am so torn!!! The pool is zero entry bottom, so I don't know if there would be a good cannonball spot :rotfl:

I think I will show DF these pics again, and Epcot bridal shots, and see what he thinks!! Even if we can afford it, I just think 2 parks, TTD, wedding and reception are way too many pictures!
