So does the Boardwalk Bakery really only have 2 sandwiches available for lunch???

The Disney site has a Big and Beefy sandwich and the Roasty Toasty listed on the menu.

That's it.

Is that really all they have now?

Yes, the Boardwalk Bakery is very limited in sandwich options for counter service meals. My suggestion would be to go to the World Showcase in Epcot or head over to the Yacht and Beach Club resorts for lunch/dinner counter service options. I love staying at the Boardwalk, but the lacking of a true counter service restaurant is a negative aspect of the resort.

Maybe? It is a bakery that sells a couple other things.

I've actually been there a few times, but not since 2014. Back then they had about 6 sandwiches at lunch, including a lobster roll. I was just amazed to see how much the menu has been cut and wondered if it was a mistake.

edited to add:

Here is a picture of the menu from 2013 from a Disney Food Blog review. The menu was the same in 2014 while we were there. I remember because I was excited to try the lobster roll! :)

Yes, it is a huge difference. On previous visits, I enjoyed the salmon, lobster, and smoked turkey sandwiches while sitting by the pool after a morning in the parks. Plus back then, it was a great use of a counter service credit -- sandwich, drink, and dessert, which was easily shareable with another person. You could even order the lobster roll with the dining plan.

@Farro thanks for posing that picture. It had been 10 years for us, but when we went by in January I was a saddened by the two choices, I thought they used to have more and your photo confirmed it.

@SteveH You are welcome! I couldn't believe it when I read the menu yesterday.

I guess people just weren't ordering the sandwiches, with Epcot so close and all their food options. It's a shame, they were really good, and big!

I just got back on Sunday. I have to say the quick service at Boardwalk is really awful and I'd expect much more for that level of resort. I stayed a few years ago and don't recall it being that awful. Yes, only 2 sandwiches at the Bakery & 2 salads. I ended up with the salads because the sandwiches were all pre-made and the guy behind the counter said that they didn't really hold up well when toasted. One food stand has burger, dogs, fried options, but they didn't have lettuce / tomato / pickles for the burgers. I also was frustrated because they don't take magic bands. They also have the pizza window. I didn't try that because on my first day we got pizza at the Pinnocihaus and I got terrible heart burn. It turned me off a bit!

The Leaping Libations (food by the pool) had terrible options too. We spent a lot of time by the pool and I was disappointed that we couldn't order a decent meal from there. Our last trip was at the Beach Club and the pool bar / restaurant was far superior.

Despite my complaints re: quick service, the sit down options are great there. We had lunch one day at Big River and I was surprised at how reasonably priced it was for a sit down. I believe our meal was $60 for 3 adults and one child. We also had a fantastic dinner at Flying Fish.... (which despite getting appetizer and drinks, cost less than a character meal!)

boardwalk is great resort for location and the studios for dvc are nice, but the lack of QS options for sure stink!

I agree with you about the lack of quick service options and that the sit down options are great. It is very disappointing that the pool bar has such a poor selection for quick service meals and snacks. It would be nice to be able to order from room service at the pool, or convert Leaping Horse Libations to something along the lines of Hurricane Hannah's and have an easier refillable mug station. Despite these shortcomings, the Boardwalk is my favorite resort.

I'm still looking forward to booking our first stay there - we are going to book a boardwalk view!!! The breakfast sandwiches at the bakery look delicious and as long as I can get a croissant and a cup of coffee, I'm gold.

With Epcot so close and having hoppers, we will be okay. :)

Its an awesome resort - I love how whimsical it is... Just plan appropriately for your meals ;)
