We were thinking of taking a Friday night on our next trip in September and spending it at the Boardwalk. What is there to do at night over there? Is it worth an evening to try something different?

If you're already at Epcot, you can walk over. Usually, you can catch one of the magicians or BW entertainers either on the BW or inside the resort. There are some carnival type games as well. That's usually about it, but the entertainers are definitely fun! This time of year they are there at around 8-10pm-ish, not sure about September. There are also a few restaurants and shops, and the Boardwalk Bakery has great treats! If it's a nice night, you can do the loop around and go by BC and YC, too and back through Epcot since I think it's EMH on Friday nights.

I still want to make it to Jellyrolls on the boardwalk (dueling piano bar). We meant to go on this last trip, but we didn't get the chance to.

ETA: we also ate at Flying Fish Cafe for the first time on this last trip, and we had excellent food (and service). FWIW, I am not a huge seafood fan, but we got two entrees b/w 3 people and split them all (they served the entrees family style and gave us individual plates). One of them was seafood - something w/salmon IIRC, and even I thought it was really good. We also thought the pumpkin risotto they had (seasonal) was also very good. We'd definitely eat there again!

Dont forget the sweets shop with candy and ice cream :) The entertainers can be fun and corny. The New Italian Restaurant is there as well and you can walk to the Swan and Dolphin if you want to just see them. Depending on what your energy level is, you can walk a bit further past the Swan and go miniature golfing too
