Sorry if this has been answered - searched and couldn't find the answer.

Does everyone in a cabin have to board at the same time when getting on the ship at Port Canaveral? For various reasons, my wife and daughter will arrive before myself and our other daughter. Can they get on the ship before we arrive?

Thanks!

If memory serves me right it is not the boarding that is going to be the issue. I believe all in the cabin have to be present to check in at the desk to get KW cards and complete check in. I could be wrong, but that seems to be the part where different arrival times causes a bottleneck at.

Adults can check in separately. The only restriction is that a child cannot check in without an adult IN THEIR CABIN. So if you have a child who is booked in someone else's room (even if they don't plan to sleep in that room) they can't check in until an adult from the other room checks in. In your case, you will be fine to have your wife and daughter check in first and you and the other daughter check in later. (I haven't tried it myself; just what I've read from the more experienced members on the boards.)

I have no first-hand experience but I feel like I have read various reports of people who did just this for me to think it shouldn't be a problem. I remember one story was a dad had to work while the wife and kids were at WDW before the cruise so he flew in to meet them day of but they were checked in and boarded the ship at different times as a result. Another person described dropping off the family and baggage to check in while the driver went to return the car rental.

Yes you can. EBPC cruise, DD and I were on a tour of the Walt Disney Studios and Archives while DW left the hotel to check in and board the Wonder. We had an overnight bag with us knowing that chances were good we would miss the ship and have to fly down to first port to catch up. After tour we rushed, as much as you can rush in LA traffic, to John Wayne and caught a shuttle to the port, made the ship with 20 minutes to spare. BEST DAY EVER !

it's been awhile but my bff and I checked in while hubs dropped rental off. he just had to get photo taken when he arrived. this was before they took photo right at check in desk
