Has anyone else noticed a lot of their Photopass pictures coming out blurry lately? I don't know if it's the humidity or what, but we never had this problem before. A ridiculous number of our family photos (like in front of the icons) are blurry. Most of the character ones came out fine, it was pretty much just the group shots in front of the icons.

Oh, and the two pictures they took of us with the dwarves came out tinted really blue, like we'd been standing under a big blue tarp. I was able to make it look a bit better in Photoshop, but seriously..

All of the pictures we had done the last two weeks of August came out awesome. Nothing different than usual. :confused3

This happened to me with only one picture in August, but an important one. We take the same picture in front of the castle every year. Luckily i usually give my own camera as a backup so I used that one but pretty disappointing after paying $150!

Our last trip had more pictures that were blurry than were clear. We were so disappointed. You couldn't even say that it was a particular CM that was maybe new to the job because it was all parks and different CMs. Hoping our upcoming trip will be better.

We had the same problem in May, I reported here back then and got crucified.... as far as I'm concerned, it's a waste of good money... Paying 100.00 for some person not familiar with a camera taking pictures of us... Ours were mostly blurry, not centered... It's like the CM's don't care, are rushed to get to the next guest, who knows what but....

We'll never waste our money again, it ain't cheap and I'm taking my camera anyway...

I've never had a blurry photo in 3 years of using PhotoPass.

We've had a few blurry pictures and of course it's annoying when it happens. My biggest problem last trip was missing pictures. Even after I described what we were wearing, date and where we were, they still couldn't locate a couple of them. That was super disappointing.

Yeah...I've seen a lots of comments like this....I'm sure Disney just gives someone a camera and has them take photos on auto with very little training.

It did seem like in the past they had people who actually knew what they were doing..but that was when they were banking on selling the pictures for 10.95 each.

Now it is all about quantity and not quality....but that seems to be the way at Disney these days

they are trained i know. they shoot in program mode i know. they are given strict instruction not to deviate from the program set on the camera (settings) especially when under lights cause they actually do meter the lights in a meet in great if lights are being used.

but i still put no faith in them for quality so i will continue to never use them and just not be in as many pictures. the days of letting them hold my camera are over too being that some of my lens are getting more and more expensive.

just don't trust them cause they r rushed at times a lot.

I don't understand how some people can have almost all their pics blurry and others have none blurry ever. It's really strange

We've gotten PP/MM on every trip. I have thousands of pics, never 1 single blurry pic. Now, that doesn't mean that every pic has been perfect, some are far from ideal (eyes closed, not centered, etc) but those total single digits, across all trips. Having PP/MM has never stopped us bringing our DSLR along. We always have pics of both, the PP and on our camera. I like PP because I want the borders/stickers on the pics. You can't put them on your pics.

The one issue I have on each trip is some of the magic in magics shots missing. I've had to have it added in at least 1 scene on each trip. This last trip was 2 scenes had it missing. Not sure what is up with that. From a conversation with one of the photographers I guess sometimes quality control doesn't think the shot is perfect enough for the magic to fit right. But when I've requested it and they added it I think it looks fine

We had a good amount of bad pics. Maybe 10% this time. Which is unusual. We get photopass/memory maker every trip for the last 5 or more years and rarely have a bad shot. However it rained and rained for our trip. We have never had a rained out trip like this past one, so the humidity and such probably played havoc with their cameras. I know my SLR was not happy in a lot of instances.

we were there the last week of September and had a lot of problems with the humidity fogging up camera lens. :( Including some of the photopass photos.

What I'm curious about is, are the pictures sometimes blurry on the preview screen and then clear when you download them? Wishful thinking probably but hoping maybe it's just to deter people from grabbing screenshots? :cool1:

Did any of you complain? I would want a refund.

We've done Photopass every year, except 2009, PP+ as soon as they launched that and this year, Memory Maker. I have always been able to justify the cost, and then some. Until this year. There were very few keepers, plenty not even worth wasting time on and for some reason, most of our photos loaded 2-3 times (same photo) into our account. For a cool $200 it was a waste of money. Quite honestly, I felt cheated and won't be rushing to use this service again.

we didn't purchase MM, and only had a few pictures taken on our trip, but I would say 30% had obvious issues. Then DD went 2 weeks later with her BF and they only had 2 types taken..a daylight one as they entered MNSSHP, and a night one also at MNSSHP in from of the castle with the Halloween colors. There were 10 images total and 5 were of centered, whole image blurry , and the night time castle one had weird blurry edges on top of both of them blurry in it. Weird. ON the up side, the photgrapher did catch an an amazing semi-candid shot of DD hugging her BF, they look SO happy and it is worth the messed up ones. However, again, no pre-pay for a plan, just purchased a total of 3 downloads when all was said and done. I did find it surprising that the overall quality was down, especially since we had ow crowds and CM's were able to take their time for shots....:confused3

As with many other areas, Disney is filling more and more PP positions with college program CMs (they're MUCH cheaper than full-timers). Some of them have nothing more than a passing interest in photography and are taught nothing more about the cameras they're given than to zoom and take the photo. I'm not saying there aren't still really great PP photographers, there are. But the vast majority are just people holding a camera and clearly they're not doing it all that well, sadly.
