Bluezoo worth it?

My wife and I have a night out without the kids (thanks Mom) on our upcoming Disney vacation. Bluezoo looks good, but a little expensive. Is it worth the price? I see you can also use a restaurant.com GC, anyone have experience with this?

We'll have a car so if anyone has any restaurant recommendations please chime in, thanks.

Bluezoo is our favorite restaurant at WDW behind V&A. We try to get to bluezoo for an adult only dinner on almost every WDW vacation.

We think the Swan/Dolphin places are superior to WDW signature restaurants in food, service and atmosphere.

We dined there for the first time in May. It was very good. We went in before 6 and not a lot of people. DH had the monk fish and I had another type of fish. He loved the monk fish and thought the preparation was very good. I liked mine as well. THe flat bread was good for an appetizer also. He had a lenom merangue (sp?) dessert that was to die for....very flavorful, beautiful and not tart at all. I had a sorbet slelction of Mojito, Margarita and mai tai, I think. It was pretty good but I liked his much better. It is a quiet, blue, atmosphere. It looks upscale and the service was one of the best on property---and we go to WDW to eat.

But if I had to pick a night out alone it would be hard to beat the filet of beef at California Grill and then to go out on the observation deck for Wishes. Our only problem with Cali on our last trip was we ate earlier in the evening and there was a table of 8 with horrible children who were running around with no manners--but you can get that anywhere.

My two picks would be Bluezoo and then Illuminations or stroll around the Boardwalk, maybe Jellyrolls. Or Cali Grill then MK for MSEP and Wishes , or Wishes from the 15th floor. They pipe in the music.

BlueZoo was not worth it in the opening days. Fortunately, Todd English listened and changed it up with regard to quality.

The seafood is nicely done, and if you ask which selections are fresh that day, you will have a good meal there.

Another nice place for an adults only dinner is the Bistro (upstairs) in France at EPCOT.

The Swan and Dolphin restaurants seem to try harder.

Have you been to WDW before? There is a lot to do around Bluezoo and the Dolphin is a beautiful resort. If you eat earlier in the evening then want to take in a show. You can walk or take the boat to Epcot for Illuminations or DHS for Fantasmic. Just be sure what time these shows are in their respective parks so you can time your meal. Everyone speaks highly of Jellyrolls but I am not sure of the cover charge or hours of operation.

Chefs in France is also a nice restaurant but is usually packed, good service though.

Flying Fish also gets good reviews on here typically and that is in the Boardwalk area.

Now that I am thinking about it. Brown Derby in DHS is also a nice signature option with very good crab cakes and entrees. The grapefruit cake is very good and DH likes their dessert port wines. It has a cool dark interior that is spread out and mot as noisy IMHO. Maybe you could ge the guy outside to do a cute charicature of you both as a souvenir, since the restaurant is lined with them.

California Grill and Brown Derby are good Disney restaurants but they are still Disney and noisy. If you really want a quieter restaurant and escape the hub-bub of Disney activity I would try bluezoo.

We have not used the restaurant.com coupon because we are TIW members but many have used the coupon with no problems.

If you do drive, you will receive free valet service when you dine at bluezoo.

There are quite a few restaurants at neighboring hotels also but on the $$$ side:
La Luce at Hilton Bonnet Creek and
Bull & Bear in the Waldorf Astoria

You can cut the cost of bluezoo by buying a gift certificate from restaurant.com. I really wish we had found those before our trip...

Yes, bits and pieces of it high in the sky. Your best viewing area would be at the last bridge (east ?) before entering Epcot.

Me and my husband has a habit of eating at Bluezoo early in the evening, then takes the boat to Epcot for extra magic hour.
It always works out perfectly.

How did I get converted?
One time I ordered An appletini from the Bluezoo bar and it was so refreshing
because they use the juice of a fresh apple....I was in love!
