We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary and had considered Blue Zoo for dinner.
In terms of service how does Blue Zoo compare to say California Grill and Flying Fish? We celebrated our 5th anniversary at CG and they treated us like royalty. complimentary champagne, special menu and just very attentve service. Truly felt the Disney magic!!! Very similar experience when we dined at Flying fish for two of our anniversary meals. Does Blue Zoo have similar service? I guess I just want to feel the Disney Magic.

Bluezoo isn't staffed by WDW cast members. I would say that your experience at CG is incredibly rare if you received that level of service. I don't even know what a special menu would be outside of special events. Bluezoo is one of my standard places to go on arrival night and it's always well staffed, but the area near the bar will definitely be a bit boisterous. There are some nice circular booths that are great for couples on the outer edges of the restaurant. Again, if you're looking for pixie dust, you certainly won't find it here, but temper your expectations in general as everyone wants something special and it's up to your server to feel like making something happen. I'd expect nothing outside the ordinary and be happily surprised if that expectation is surpassed.

I don't BlueZoo doing much that's special for a celebrating couple.

Our server at BlueZoo was good but was more like an ideal waiter robot than an actual person. From some yelp review images Flying Fish seems to make a big deal about celebrations but as was mentioned it's up to your server.

The food at BlueZoo beat the new Flying Fish on 2/3 courses my entree was the only course that Flying Fish bested BlueZoo on Sole Meuniere > Miso Glazed Mero. The bill ended up being $75-$100 cheaper at BlueZoo (and many other Signatures) than Flying Fish with us ordering similar courses and drinks.

blue zoo is excellent - great food, great service, but, IMHO, I do feel a bit out of the Disney bubble here. As PP mentioned, Swan/Dolphin are not Disney-owned hotels, so if you are looking for "Disney magic", this may not be the place to go. They may or may not recognize your anniversary on a level you received at CG and FF and, quite honestly, it may be difficult to expect that from any restaurant as those little perks are at the discretion of the CM. The only restaurant where we ever received extra celebratory pixie dust was at CG as well.

I agree with the others--for food it is a great choice. For "special" Disney Magic, no so great.

The only place for any level of magic would be Victoria and Albert's and the only guarantee is a take home menu printed with Happy Anniversary assuming you mention it on your Victoria and Albert's reservation when you call or when they call to confirm a few weeks out if you book online. We got a nice post card from Jiko on our Honeymoon with all the CMs signatures which was nice but that was almost 5 years ago, not sure if they still do that.

I am the OP and reached out to BlueZoo in regards to how I can make the dinner special. they have been fantastic! Asked how i would like the menu personalized, suggested a champagne toast with dessert etc. We go in July so I will come back and post on how the evening went once we return from our trip.

I go to BZ every trip, sometimes multiple times. The service is always spot on, but is not overly jubilant, much more reserved, and in my estimation better. The food is the best on property, and its much quieter and more sophisticated in terms of atmosphere. The bar can get noisy, but for whatever reason, I'm ok with noisy bars late at night, the dining room is always nice and quiet. I'm positive they'll take good care of you and as you've already experienced, they're very service oriented. Sending you best wishes and congratulations!

I've celebrated a number of birthdays at bluezoo over the years, and they have always made it a special occasion. And the food is fabulous!
