I have plans to go to Blue Bayou next week but the online menu doesn't have the monte cristo. :scared1: Does anyone know if it's still on the menu? Do I have to go to Cafe Orleans for the monte cristo? :confused3
Thanks!!! :hippie:

Yes, it's always on the lunch menu, not on the dinner menu. :)

You can order it for lunch or dinner at Café Orleans.

it was exactly the same last aug. when we went but for me it was slightly better at Cafe Orleans because of the great service we received and the lower price tag

This will be my 4th trip to Disneyland and I've always wanted to eat here. However as you have to book ahead, how far ahead can you book?

Thanks

If you don't need the ambience, Cafe Orleans is really easy to get into, it's a few dollars cheaper, and you can also get yummy French Onion Soup or Pomme Frites...

Yeah, I like Blue Bayou but I always get placed near the entrance so ambience is not really there for me. (I haven't been seated anywhere near the water in over 20 years.) Now I love the bistro ambiance of Cafe' Orleans with the near constant live jazz. That Monte Cristo sandwich is awesome!

At Blue Bayou, when you check in at the podium request a waterside table. The host will get a wait time estimate from the lead inside, and you can decide whether you want to wait or not. It is always worth asking, because sometimes the response is "right now". Sometimes it may be 20-40 minutes, or even longer for a party larger than 4 (requesting 2nd row or better almost doubles the number of qualifying tables, so a shorter estimate).

You may book 60 days out for a p.s.

Although you can book 60 days out, I was able to get a reservation just one week before I arrive. I thought that was pretty good. Unsure if it's just not the busy season or is it a sign of the economic times. Maybe this will translate into smaller wait times for the exciting rides.

I'll have to try that. When I was young they would always say that they can't guarantee where you would be seated. I always operated on the assumption that they still do that.

Just thought I would mention that when we checked in and requested waterside, we were told it would be 40 minutes. It was actually only about 20 and I have heard several other people say that they were given a much longer estimate then it actually ended up being.

I've always found that Disney will accommodate your requests but you may have to wait a bit. I  Disney!!!

What is everyone's favorite thing to eat at BB? I am eating there for Easter dinner and cannot decide what I am going to order.

I had the short ribs. They were tasty and I would recommend them. I still prefer the monte cristo though. You may get lucky and they may add something special for Easter dinner. Does anyone know if BB adds to the menu for holidays?
