Blue Bayou reservation question

My wife and I are going to be visiting Disneyland in a couple of weeks and it's a great desire of ours to go to the Blue Bayou for dinner. We looked online at the reservation openings and the only one available is for 3:40 p.m. It's not that we don't mind eating an early dinner, but the menu doesn't switch until 4 p.m. Would they be willing to accommodate us waiting until 4 p.m. for the dinner menu, or would they even let us order off the dinner menu at our reservation time?

The lunch and dinner menus are basically the same with the exception that the Monte Cristo sandwich isn't offered at dinner.

They're about half the same. It's the beef dishes that are different, which works out fine if you're planning to get veggies, chicken or fish. Take the 3:40 reservation and keep trying for something later. Don't the MSEP packages open at 45 days out? I'd either try for one of those or call just before they open and see if the CM can make a regular reservation available.

I would also keep checking for a better reservation time. With the no show penalty, people do cancel reservations so you might find a time that works better for you closer to the date of your trip.

There is really no way to know if the CMs at the podium would be able to hold your reservation for 20 minutes or if they can give you the dinner menu early (that's probably a function of when the kitchen switches over from lunch prep to dinner prep).

Here's what you can do:
1. Keep checking to see if a better time opens up.
2. If you can't get a better time, then check in at your regular time and say that want a waterside table. You will have at least a 20min wait for that which should put you sitting down at 4pm or even a little after that. It's worth the wait for a waterside table anyway, so you could just count on doing that regardless.

After eating there more times than I can remember, pick up the phone and call. Online is not the same as what the CM's have available
