Blue Bayou dinner with picky vegetarian?

I did the PTN Package on President's Day Monday. It worked perfectly for us. We were planning a meal at BB anyway. I honestly didn't think I'd enjoy the food all that much, but I wanted the experience of dining in Pirates. The food was actually good. The atmosphere was peaceful. We wandered to our spot on Main Street and had a great view. We weren't seated on the curb, but frankly, I think we saw better standing up behind those who were seated. We too had a scuffle. A party of people on the BB package got to the viewing area too early. So, the cast members told them to come back at 7:30. When they got back, there was a line waiting to check in ahead of them and they didn't get spots on the curb. They were mad and taking it out on the cast members. As soon as the parade was over, we moved into the middle of Main Street and enjoyed the fireworks.

Vegetarians do NOT consume any animal flesh. I really wish those who eat seafood would quite calling themselves vegetarian, that just confuses it for true vegetarians.
True vegetarians don't eat eggs or milk either. I think they're referred to as ovo-lacto vegetarians. You're also not technically vegan if you eat honey or wear a leather jacket or shoes. There are so many variances! I don't care for the term peskitarian so I say vegetarian. Most people get that I don't eat 2/4 legged meat.

I don't think the confusion arises from how people label or mislabel themselves. I think the first misconception is based on the fact that people eat fish during lent. Then there's people who just plain don't care. Like if someone turns down something with gluten and the offerer responds, "Oh, can you eat a banana?" Of course, it's naturally gluten free, the person just doesn't know exactly what gluten is. People who ask a person who turns down a hamburger if they want a turkey burger just don't care what constitutes being a vegetarian. Or they're idiots.

Ok so like maaaan..I'm like. Confused. Does that mean you do eat fish? Cause they don't have any legs. ;) No.. Really.

What you are describing is a VEGAN.

By saying you are a vegetarian you just make it harder for those who are Vegetarians (don't consume any animal flesh) when someone tries to serve seafood to them. Does it matter if you "care" for a term or not if that is how you eat? I have a medical condition that I do not like the name of but that doesn't mean I can start using another incorrect name for it.

I thought there was a difference between vegetarians and vegans. Vegans were the group that didn't eat eggs or milk. All I know is that, to quote Calvin and Hobbes, I'm a "Dessertitarian".

Please take this in the spirit it's intended.. :)
I would send my friend a link to menu's at DLR and have them figure out what to order.
I too have a somewhat restrictive diet but it's my issue and not something I want anyone around me to have to deal with.

No. I've read many books as someone that doesn't eat meat, whatever the correct term, and I described a vegetarian. I do eat fish BTW.

From dictionary.com :
noun
1.
a person who does not eat or does not believe in eating meat, fish, fowl, or, in some cases, any food derived from animals, as eggs orcheese, but subsists on vegetables, fruits, nuts, grain, etc.

The person above is correct, and my wife also gets really frustrated when people assume she eats fish. A vegetarian does not eat any animal meat, including fish. If you eat fish, you are not a vegetarian.

No way I could be a vegi anything. I love meat, dairy, eggs and seafood. Total yum man! :)

Vegan: no creature is killed for your dining benefit, no honey, no dairy, no eggs, no leather..

Vegetarian: no creature is killed for your dining benefit. Usually won't do leather, but sometimes there's not much of a choice (dancers who aren't famous enough to have Capezio make man-made, high-end, shoes, for instance)

Ovo Lacto vegetarian: the way we have to explain ourselves for those confused between the above because of people who aren't vegetarian saying they are. A lady at my WW meeting goes on and on about being vegetarian, then talks about this crab dish she loves. AUGH.

I, too, don't EVER want anyone else worrying about my food. The only info the friend needs is "yes they will make you pasta or let you have the mac n cheese if either is acceptable", and move on.

How nice for you?
Yes, thank you. I love good quality, low fat non hormone meat. Organic eggs, milk. Unbleached flour. I prefer no MSG. Low sodium. Try to stay away from guar gum and carrageenan. Etc. Lol
