Curious if they were the "normal" kind or the kind that are motion sensitive and need to manually disabled??

They look the same, but I dont think they are connected to anything!:goodvibes

I hope you have better luck with this question than I did:wizard:

It would be safe to say that they are motion and door sensing.

There have been several reports of BLT room being warm. Maintenance has told the Guests to keep their doors closed because leaving a door open will cause the AC to shut down.

Anyone else?
Nothing worse than having to get up in the middle of the night to provide the "motion" that will get the cool air you SHOULD be getting anyway.

I was told on my several calls to maintenance that it takes 15 minutes for the AC to know you are in the room before it will cut on, to every time you open the doors it will shut off, "it's supposed to make that loud noise" etc.
My 2nd fl Studio AC worked great, but my visit 2 weeks later in a 7th fl studio was the pits!! It was hot and uncomfortable and nothing we did or anyone we called cooled the room down.

Im thinking next summer will get alot more complaints, if they dont fix the issues with the AC. It felt like a sweat lodge!!

I was afraid of this--.
Those similar style Thermostats we had at SSR could be disabled (there was a thread about just how to do that) and we enjoyed our own temperature AC once we disabled the motion sensor.
Also heard of folks who leave the Fan on and tie a ballon near the thermostat motion sensor which allows the "motion" for the AC to operate at the setting that the person wants.
WHICH IS HOW IT OUGHT TO BE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

Next you are going to demand indoor plumbing. We are all tired of going outside to the well for water but making these outlandish demands has got to end. :lmao:

They got rid of that work around by not installing ceiling fans!!! :rotfl:

A fan would have been nice to keep air moving in the room. It was stifling!
We had guests staying at SSR and they stopped by and were not jealous at all that we were staying in the "new place" because our studio was sooo warm. They commented that their room felt great and it did!!

We just stayed in BLT 2 weeks ago - I called because the room was hot at night and maintenance showed me how to override the thermostat so that it works how you would like it to work. You have to do the override every 72 hours. It worked perfectly and our room was very cool even in the record high temps for October!!

Please tell!!!!! Do you remember how to do it? My Maintenance man was not as helpful. I was contemplating avoiding BLT in the summer if there is no override!! Thank you!!:cheer2:

We were there Oct 10-13 and it was hottttt!!

Without having the thermostat in front of me it may be hard to explain, but I know you turn the system off, then push the button next to the on/off switch and a button over to the far right (can't remember specifically what this button was) at the same time, hold for a few seconds. Then turn the system back on and it works like a regular thermostat. Repeat 72 hours later. Hope that helps!

I stayed in October and was able to over-ride the thermostat. You can find the instructions by searching on google for :"disney thermostat over". The first link that comes up shows the instructions.

I wonder if it depends on the placement of your villa. We were there in Sept. and it was very hot outside. However, we set the thermostat when we arrived and I don't remember having to adjust it again nor do the over ride. We had a Bay Lake view facing East.

THANKS! I bookmarked this link - tried to follow the old written instructions when we were at SSR in September, and couldn't get it figured out.
