BLT Waitlist Question

We recently closed on a re-sale contract at BLT. I tried to book a 2BR Lake View for July, but only 4 of 7 nights were available.

For you DVC veteran's out there, what is the likelihood that our waitlist will clear?

As a back-up we have a 2BR Savannah View at Kidani booked for the same week.

Thanks in advance.

Luke

Anything can happen, you could also win the lotto for a million bucks. Your backup plan is smart. After several waitlist disappointments we decided to buy our favorite resorts and book at 11 months. For us It didn't make sense to spend thousands on Disney vacation and not get to stay where we wanted. The first several years the parks were important but as years passed, the resorts became our number one.

Agree with you about buying at your "favorite" resort, which is why we selected Bay Lake Towers. Unfortunately, since we only closed in late January, we are 6 months out from vacation for this year. We will definitely take advantage of the 11 month home resort window going forward.

One option, if you don't mind a split stay, is to book any BLT nights that are still available that are in a row and then put in a wait list for just the others...waitlists for fewer nights are more apt to come through than longer ones.

This way, you can stalk the website and if you see a night you need that attaches to what you have, you can book it and adjust the wait list. I have put together a vacation that I wanted like this before.

Of course, I was willing to do the split stay if it had not worked out, so it was worth the gamble.

Good luck!

This is great advice. I was in your shoes last year but with even less time. Since I was anxious to stay at BLT as an owner I did a split stay with 2 days in BLT and 5 days in BWV.

Split stay as others have said is a great way to enhance your chances, since there are less days on the waitlist.

If for example you can book BLT for the first 4 days and AKL for the last 3. I would waitlist the 3 days BUT I would also waitlist 1 day as well for BLT (the 5th night), many times one day might pop-up or 2 days but not all 3 at once so your waitlist never gets filled. If you keep an eye on it you can get the entire stay prior to waitlist coming through.

One point, you could end up with 1 or 2 days at AKL which isn't the worse thing.

Good Luck
