BLT Standard View?

I really think Lake View is the sweet spot for BLT.

We recently had a "Pref room" at the BW for "Pref" points and it was on the 1st floor in the Quiet pool area and MY Family absolutely LOVED IT!!! They loved being on the 1st floor!!!

Love the picture-- I hope we get that room- we have a std view 1 bedroom reserved-- I tried to go easy this year so we could splurge next year, but ended up using the saved points for 2 more nights at VB instead!!! :lovestruc

We have a dedicated 2BR std view so I am really curious about that view :surfweb:

So are we to deduce that all Standard View rooms are on the low floors, since once you get up a few floors, you can pretty much see the lake or the MK (or both) from any room?

I am looking at that post with the floor-by-floor layouts and I can't see how any non-MK-facing room on an upper floor (even on the "inner C") couldn't be considered at least a Lake View.

Has anyone seen a report of a Standard View that is anything other than shuffleboard/pool view, first floor...?

i am starting to wonder.... not that it's a bad view to see the shuffleboard or something. We could have a view of a dumpster or maintenance bay ;)

We had a 1BR, from the patio you could see the Tempo Fountain.

Thanks for posting pictures- would you mind sharing your room number for tracking views/locations on the Q&A thread?

We will be staying in a standard view studio this Tuesday. I will take pictures of the view and report back. :goodvibes

Where did I read that several people had been given 3rd or 4th floor MK view rooms??? They went back and had their rooms reassigned to a higher floor?? I've read so many threads, blogs, etc. this week I don't remember?

Wow. I'd be really annoyed if I spent 20 points a night for a MK view studio and was assigned to the 3rd floor. That's crappy.

Personally, we're doing standard view for this first trip home (12 days, squee!) because we wanted to do a little scoping the place out before deciding whether MK or even LV is worth it (to us, I mean - everyone vacations a bit differently).

But I think it's a bad move on DVC's part to create these designations for each category without giving some scrupulous consideration to each room and how it fits into each category. It shouldn't be "well, if you lean to the side and squint, you can see Space Mountain through those trees and under the monorail track, so technically we can call it MK view."

It's one thing to know that you're only 'requesting' a certain view/location, and deal with the fact that you may get it and you may not, but when you're using more points for an actual category, a good view/location should not be a gamble.

I've had 3rd and 4th floor Boardwalk views at the BWV and the view is great. I can't imagine complaining about a 4th floor view from the contemporary. Should be no problem seeing the fireworks.

At BWV, your view would be mostly lake; At BLT, your view would be mostly parking lot.

Yes, but if the monorail comes into the CR at floor 4, and your room was on the 3rd or 4th floor at BLT, wouldn't that be a pretty obstructed view of MK? It's supposed to be MK view, not fireworks view. Just seems like a lot of extra points to only 'sorta' get what you were bargaining for?

I don't want a glimpse of MK or the lake when booking views. I want an unobstructed view. I think there will be some issues forthcoming. I don't see any of the views being as beautiful as BW view.

And 4th floor at CR is 5th floor at BLT as you go over the connection bridge, right? So the 3rd and 4th floors at BLT have less chance being acceptable as MK view.

you are kidding right - at BLT you get a direct view of the MK - you don't get a direct view of Epcot from BWV.

Now love MK - so that will be fine.

besides most of the views are lake -- BLT has lots of lake views - no parking lot views with most of the lake views.

now there will be parking lot views - some will have MK views (just like CR does) - others will be standard views - no views of the MK - just CR or parking lot.

Not sure but I could swear that when I bought BLT in Boston the guide said that the Standard Views were all on the first 5 floors. :confused3

I agree. If I pay the points for an MK view, I want an unobstructed MK view, the higher the floor, the better.
