We’re doing our first stay at BLT this Spring in a 2BR dedicated unit (Lake View). I was so happy to get that unit when the 7 month window opened up! Thanks for the advice I got from posters on this board to make it happen!

Now that we have the room, I’d love to get advice on room requests. I know to ask for a high floor but am not sure what to ask for beyond that. I‘ve looked at the Touring Plans room finder but would love to hear from people who really know BLT. We’re so looking forward to trying out a different resort (we always stay at SSR because we love it so much). TIA for advice on room requests or any other advice you can share about BLT!

We asked for an "even" numbered room. Didn't ask for anything else, received a room on the 9th floor, end of the hallway on MK side. Loved it😍!! Had a view of Space MT. and the lake. 2 minutes away from the elevator. Asked for a 2br even room number because my understanding is, even numbers have the kitchen island with 2 stools/chairs and we wanted that configuration.

What do you want? A great view of the lake? Of the Contemporary? A chance at seeing the Magic Kingdom? Or are you more interested in mobility? It can be nice to stay on the 5th floor (like I did last week) so you can walk to to the monorail station without bothering with an elevator.

Great questions. I didn’t realize that with Lake View you could get a glimpse of the MK. If that would allow us to see some of the fireworks, then that’s what we’d prefer. If we can’t see the fireworks then we’d rather have a great view of the lake. As far as floor goes, I think we’d like to be higher and give up easy access to the monorail.

We had one of the even-numbered lake views, and we could see the fireworks from our balcony looking left and a beautiful view of the lake looking right. I’d request that for sure!

With a lake-view dedicated two-bedroom, there are only three rooms that would allow a decent view of the fireworks; 8112, 8212, and 8412. The best views of the lake are probably xx02 rooms. Other than that, it sounds like higher is better for you. For reference, I believe there are 74 dedicated lake-view two bedrooms.

We have never been in a 2 bedroom here but have been in a odd number one bedroom Lake view and thought we had the stools/chairs. That was several years ago though so I could be mistaken. Our last stay at BLT was in March in a 1 bed standard and was an even number. The even number room did have stools/chair at the island so not sure if it is just two bedroom units that do not have the stools or if really is odd number units. Just curious.

We didn't want the larger laundry room, desired more space in the kitchen/living area. I am not a BLT expert, but my little bit of research suggested asking for an even # room.
Our even # room did give us more living space with the kitchen island, laundry was in a closet. YMMV
😍 Truly enjoyed our stay at BLT, thinking of adding on there.

Thanks so much for all the help. I was able to talk to MS today and got the request in! BTW, the wait times for MS have been really short lately!

Even if you are not a BLT expert you have way more knowledge than I do!!

I was wrong, I had forgotten about the laundry room vs closet. I remembered there was an island in the odd number and just assumed it had chair/stools. So you must be right about evens having the Laundry Closet with bar stools vs even numbered rooms having no stools but a laundry room.

Thanks so much for pointing out the difference between the odd/even rooms.

I don't have a preference either way as they both work for our family at the moment but that can all change at any time so its good to know about the options. :)

UA DVC Member I hope you enjoy your trip and hopefully Top of the World will be back open by then.

To be honest, all the views of "Lake View" are pretty good! I could see not wanting to be on the "Inside" of the "U" shape of the building...as you could be looking directly into someone elses room and the other side of the building could maybe block your view? But being "inside" the U means you get a great view of the Electric Water Pageant when it goes by! But overall, the views are really nice

I'd probably ask for an even numbered room to be on the outside of the "U". I usually ask for a high floor as well, just to get the "best" view...But I did get that 5th floor room once and THAT was super nice.
