Don;t know if this has been discussed already - but does anyone know whether this is typical in the DVC resorts - in the paperwork for BLT it says "Due to limited occupancy in the observation and lounge areas located on the top floor of BLT reservations will be required to visit the area subject to availability. Because tge observation area is not an accomodation OR FACILITY of the timeshare plan there is no guarantee that it will continue to operate or will be available for use by OWners and their guest and you should not purchase in reliance on its continued availability".

How is part of the building not part of the facility? Will it just be converted to a private party room they can rent out? Have other DVC contracts excluded part of their facilities this way?

until SSR - they did not - got in trouble with BW.

BW had a place where members were surpose to be able to see the illiuinations firework - well guess what after the first week (okay might have been first month) - it was closed to members. the excuse there were too many of us.

they started renting it out to wedding, receptions, conventions - expecting this thing to go the same way.

doubt that members will still have it by 2010.

that say hoping when Disney has not rented it - will still let members enjoy it. especially with the full time bar. wonder who is paying for that. better not be members since we don't the place.

I can believe that, they did the same thing at BWV. I believe the room above
DP on the boardwalk was for DVC but that changed too. Someone would know more than me about this.:goodvibes

Well that sucks...guess prime real estate like that is too good to provide as a perk...

It is not owned by the timeshare. Which also means you do not have to pay dues on it. The stores and restaurants on the boardwalk below the villa rooms are also not part of the BWV timeshare, and neither is "The Attic" room (above Jellyrolls).

not sure about the restuarants - since BWV is always more expensive than BCV - something is paid somewhere.

since those restuarants are listed as BW - would not be surprised.

just want to make sure that members are not paying for the lounge and staff when we don't own it.

The reason BWV dues are higher than BCV is because of the lower standard view points in the equation. Less points to spread the cost over. If the stores or restaurants were part of the timeshare, we would be getting income from them (at least rental income).

They have that kind of disclaimer concerning the animals at AKV, I believe.

Yes we do! I bought anyway. It would be devastating if there were no animals on the savannah, but we took our chances!

We were looking at the BLT viewing "pod" from the Cali Grill observation area last fall. It really looks small. Anyone know the square footage? They've said it will hold about 70 people, including a bar?

I don't know what else it could be used for. Maybe a wedding with 10 guests?

VIP's, like a private box at a baskeball game. VGC is supposed to have an area to view the new World of Color show in DCA. Bet that will have the same disclaimer.

It's probably equal to The Attic at BWV. I stayed across the hall from it one time, it was used frequently. Most weddings at WDW are small, it could also be used for business meeting receptions. In my job, I usually go to an offsite meeting each year at a hotel, usually about 50 to 75 people. The first night they usually have a "cocktail party".

When we toured the models earlier this month, they told us that the MK view rooms at BLT would be equipped to play the Wishes music to encourage MK view people to stay in their rooms to watch the fireworks, as not to overcrowd the observation deck.

I think this is a cool idea. I'd rather watch it in the privacy of my "home" anyway!

I stayed at Paradise Pier in Disneyland last month. On my last night, I went to my room to watch the fireworks (I had a park view). I tried to get the channel with the music, it would not work. The remote only had an up and down button and it would not go the channel that was marked for fireworks music on the cardn :rolleyes1
