Has anyone seen any concept art or drawing for the Bay Lake Tower refurb yet? I saw at the condo meeting its been confirmed for 2024 but can't seem to find any images or drawings of what it will be like. Given that it's a full hard refurb I'm hoping it's going to be a real change/improvement.

They did say 2024, but slide showed 2025. 2025 likely to be when they finish the rehab. Some followed up and they said the tower design causes additional challenges. If I recall correctly, people said the rehab will be a floor at a time. Possibly top floor will be done first and they work they way down (if they cause any water issues they won't want it to impact rooms that have been rehabbed).

Yes, I saw that info also, work starting mid-September 2024 I think they said, but no images of what it will look like ??? Not even an artist's sketch

That’s not unusual. The Disney Files had concept art for BRV last year and maybe a little for BCV, but I don’t think there was anything for BWV. So maybe there will be something about BLT in Disney Files as they get closer to starting, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they ignore refurbs and instead show the new cabins and then the new Poly tower.

This means they are almost 1.5 years to 2 years off schedule on very worn rooms I believe. Disappointing to say the least. We held off two trips and planned a Fall trip trying to avoid mass construction and older rooms. Sure expect rooms to be in poor condition leading into a renovation so that is just perfect.

Ye, seems like room refurbs are running late on quite a few resorts, and taking a lot longer than they should! I'm already tempted to switch my stay out at 7 months as I don't want to stay there during construction.

It's slated to start in the second half of 2024, so maybe some news on it in the near future?

Supposed to last about a year from start to finish as well.

Didn’t they say starting in September 2024 and expected to last through Sept. 2025? Pretty sure I’m not crazy. Was considering putting some family members there durinf May of next year but with the refurb still ongoing probably better to book somewhere else.

The Boulder Ridge refurb started in September 2022 and some preview images were published in Disney Files at the very end of that month. But in most cases, Disney / DVC doesn't reveal any info in advance. To date, I don't believe they have ever published any official photos from recent updates including BCV and BWV.

I wouldn't expect to see specifics about BLT until at least September / October, and it may be even later when guests start staying in the updated rooms.

Disney usually does a test room. If anyone sees people bringing more maintenance items than usual into a room, try to snag some photos from the hallway. That’s how we got previews of the CR refurb a few years ago.

We stay in Sept and May next year so hopefully one of the stays (May one) we get lucky with a newer room. I am sure it will be by floor, not room type.

We are thinking about going through Dave’s DVC Rentals for a March trip and we want to stay at BLT. How crazy are we to do this?

We are 3 adults that won’t be in our room much. We want the convenience of BLT, and the cost savings of us eating breakfast and lunch in the room.

I won’t be happy if there’s banging around with workers working on surrounding rooms at night. I don’t care during the day. My DH will probably go back to the room earlier than us, but it would be to watch TV, sit on the balcony or go hang out in the main building for awhile.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 🙂

There won't be any work going on at night. Depending on the work going on during your visit, you may have no water, no elevator, etc., during your stay for brief periods. Although typically they try to limit those outages to sections of the resort that are closed off to guests, that's not always possible.

There will probably be lots of construction walls and scrims up all around the resort, and yes lots of noise and work going on during the day.

We had 2 BLT reservations (Std Studio and Standard 2 BR} magically upgraded to awesome high floor Lake Views during the previous refurbishment in 2019. Now we have 2 reservations planed for Jan/May 2025 and are hopeful for similar pixie dust upgrades, but the Standard views will be fine either way. Constructions at resorts have never really bothered us. We just roll with it and plan our next trip.

As long as we have water for showers early in the morning, and later at night we’re good. We won’t need water during the afternoon. No elevator would stink, but then again it’ll force us to get a littke workout in with going up stairs (gotta find the silver lining - LOL).
Thanks again 🙂

It’s funny you mentioned that, because I thought that this could be a possibility. After discussing everything with my family, we’ll just roll with it too ::yes:: 👍🏻

There are two banks of elevators at BLT, and I truly doubt they'd turn off both at any one time. They have Bell Services CMs transporting luggage up and down to think about, not to mention elderly guests (like us) who wouldn't be able to climb either!

I wonder if BLT has a cast only elevator in backstage areas. I know that Riviera has at least one. I saw it once.
