BLT pool

We have a niece and her family spending the day with us when we are staying at BLT in May.Will they be able to use the pool with us.?
Have they put a fence around it now?

pools are only for the guests of the resort. they would only have the right to use the pool if they are listed on the reservation (which is an issue if you get the DDP). more info is here:

The BLT pool has always been gated.

If the number of guests in your party is less than full occupancy for the villa you have booked, just add them to the reservation. This assumes you won't be booking a Dining Plan...if DDP, you don't want to list extra people because you'll end up paying for them.

Otherwise, you should ask the front desk if the friends can join you at the pool. Chances are it will not be a problem. but the resort does have a right to deny the request.

A larger issue could be parking. If the friends are driving over and do not have a WDW parking pass or reservations at a Contemporary restaurant, security guards could turn them away. CR parking lot is a popular destination for Magic Kingdom guests looking to avoid hassles of parking at the TTC.

Realize that the pool, parking lot and other amenities are intended for use by resort guests. If the resort is at full occupancy and they've had issues with overcrowding, they could deny the requests. They do tend to be very accommodating more often than not but if you really want to know what COULD happen...see above.

We stayed at BLT for a week last year at the end of May and the CM's were checking guests at the pool to make sure they were staying at BLT. No idea if it will be the same during your stay, but it does happen.

It's a pretty small pool and I'm sure 'visitors' like to try to tailgate in to take an afternoon dip. Not enough chairs for resort guest staying there let alone visitors of guests. Not sure about the contemporary pool..seems bigger with less people.
