I was wondering if anyone thought the pool size at BLt was a little small. We always like to have a table at the pool for eating, playing cards etc...
I dont remember seeing alot of seating like the VWL or BWV which is our top 2 resorts. Can someone tell me about the pool at BLT ? Me just walking thru was not a good enough evaluation so please tell me what you think after staying at the resort thanks.

You're right, there aren't a lot of tables at the BLT pool. Somehow during out trip, though, we were always able to get one while we were at the pool. If we're not in the water, we often enjoy a good game of SCRABBLE at the pools.

The pool at the main resort is much larger. We went there about half the time, and stayed at BLT's pool the other. One day, we did an around-the-world monorail pool hop as a non-park day, and visited every pool at CR, BLT, Poly, and Grand Floridian.

We've been to BLT several times and never had a problem with seating or tables. There are a bunch of tables by the snack bar. I wouldn't say the seating is any worse than any other resort where we've stayed.

VWL pool and area (I don't remember any tables at all) is way smaller than BLT.

WL area is good size, but so is CR in comparison-both are about 200 yard walks from the DVC additions.

It's worth noting that the Bay Cove Pool is for exclusive use of Bay Lake Tower guests. Those staying at the Contemporary Tower and South Garden Wing do not have access to the Bay Cove Pool.

In effect, the population of guests using that pool is limited to occupants of the 280-some BLT villas.

Compare that to the other Deluxe & DVC resorts which typically have 800-1200 hotel rooms + villas and yeah, it makes sense that Bay Cove would be much smaller.

We were at WL in May and I don't remember tables really close to the pool (as in where you can play a game while your kids swim) but the outdoor seeating from the Roaring Forks is definitely just a bit removed from the pool "lounge" area.

After my last trip, I would say (and family agrees) the BLT pool is by far the worst in all of the DVC lodges.

I love the resort, but forget the pool. It is nothing more then a place to get wet.

Even the main pool is nothing special and the main pools slide is all but falling apart. The whole area needs some refurbishing.

I have to agree. there were a few tables towards the back left. however, that is very noisy, as this is where the kids get out of the pool after exiting the slide and go back up again. and they run through a tunnel, which echos. and it is next to the kiddie foutain area.

this pool is very small, and in the afternoon, when the "yellow jacket" come outs (that's what we call the Cm who runs the afternoon "activities", which are fine, but insists on doing it on a microphone at blaring decibels, and blaring music, too.. occurs at most pools now, no more relaxing at the pool) It is very loud for that small area.

I think the value resorts are best for poolside tables (although the moderate "quiet pools" have quite a few). at the Jambo house pool at AKL there are only 2 tables pool side.. the rest have a row of hedges between them and the pool.

We were underwhelmed with the pool/pool area at BLT. I love the pool at VWL....it may not be huge, but it's laid out nicely. I love just sitting there and relaxing a bit. But at BLT?? Nope. It just doesn't appeal to me. It's fine if you want to take a quick dip and get wet. If we are at BLT, we aren't there for the pool, that's for sure. And I own DVC there!!!

My husband hated the pool at BLT. I'm not sure if was due to the smallish size or it's location. I do remember there being plenty of chairs available though.

We only stay at BLT/BCV/BWV and sometimes VWL. For us BWV pool is the best of those DVC resorts/wings. BLT with the slide, zero entry, bar and grill and being on the edge of Bay Lake make it second since VWL and BCV are really just quiet pools. However we still prefer BCV and walk to SAB.

I think AKV/OKW and SSR have pretty nice pools as well, just not on our stay list.

I wonder if GFV will even have a pool, looks pretty close the GF pool/slide.
