new member(pending) at BLT. how does one maximize 120pts at a resort like BLT? i have two DD that are small right now, so a studio for the time being is ok i guess.

Congratulations on your BLT purchase, :welcome: Home, and :welcome: to the boards.

First, to get the most days at BLT book a standard view. Some standard view are parking lot view, but there are some that have views of MK and the fireworks. Depending on the season, BLT Standard view is less expensive than other resorts.

If possible, visit during the low point seasons. NOTE: these are busy seasons for DVC, so I would suggest booking 11 months out if possible.

Another tip, Friday and Saturday nights are the most expensive. If traveling for fewer than 5 days, you could avoid those nights altogether.

Also, just because you own at BLT doesn't mean you can't book at less point expensive resorts. OKW is a great value for points and is often available at the 7 month window.

For us, we have opted for split stays so far. We try to book other resorts for the Friday+Saturday, then book BLT starting on Sunday.

Hopefully others will mention other tips.

First of all, congratulations "neighbor." As to maximizing points, like dizfan said, book standard view right at the 11 month mark, try to vacation during non-peak seasons, and book studio accommodations. You may also want to consider vacationing every other year for longer vacations (banking your points) rather than going every year for shorter vacations. Happy planning. :goodvibes

thank you both for the help! debated the purchase for years and finally pulled the pin. can't wait to get home for the first time in April 2011 :cool1:

Not to be a wet blanket, but as long as your two are small, the studio might work out. It is pretty small as well. SSR and OKW might work out for you for the one bedroom when you decide you want a larger villa.
