BLT pics 8-4-09

We were just there 8/4-8/8. Checked out today and spending a couple of days with family before heading home. Here's the snaps I got before our room got too messy to take more.

Our view from our bay lake view room. (I would suggest requesting a room higher than the fifth floor that we were on if you really want to see Bay Lake over the landscaping trees between the pool and the hotel.)

Wow how early did those people started to line up?? I heard people kept going back in line to buy more pins. I wish they make non-limited-edition version of the pin. Just like Kidani Village or Treehouses, you can't find their logo pins ever since the inital LE pins sold out the first day. I wonder why

It is from the balcony area outside of the 4th floor at the Contemporary. The dark part across the top is the momorail beam.

My family and I took advantage of the daily open house for members on Thursday. The rooms are really nice. However, I have to say that we were very underwhelmed by the pool. The slide looks like fun but the pool itself is very small and plain. This area had so much potential but it seems to have fallen victim to budget constraints. The kids were disappointed. They were far more impressed with the waterfall showers lol

Frank Davis Resort became Sunrise Resort about 25 years ago and was open until last year when it was sold to the State of Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection with the intent of making into a campground/park. Unfortunately it has not happened yet and has just been vandalized and a large building at the state park next door was burned down last spring damaging another building building and home. Me and my wife had our wedding there down at the pavilion by the river. Our house sits on a hill a short distance away and we could see the 4th of July fireworks from our back yard, kind of our own top of the world fireworks viewing area.

I did Rshealand We talked to the happy couple, and they told my girlfriend and I that they had really gotten married on Saturday and wanted to get extra pictures at the BLT opening... If memory serves me correctly, they said they were spending that night at BLT.
