BLT or VWL Dec 16-24?

I made the BLT reservation at 11 months (one of my home resorts). Now I was able to get VWL too! I am staying in a studio, traveling solo, and have never been at Christmas before. Never really wanted to, actually. So everyone says VWL is so beautiful at Christmas. But BLT seems more convenient (and ugly and sterile), and right on monorail to Poly and Grand Floridian for beautiful Christmas decorations and other quick service options.
I probably will only do Cape May and Le Cellier, so don't need more ADRs.

I feel like it might have been a fluke that VWL was open, so I should take it, as I will be able to get BLT again. But, as I said, BLT seems more convenient, and I may not go again at Christmas (crowds).

So, which one?

VWL...it is the smallest DVC resort at WDW, so therefore a little tougher to land ressies. While you have the chance, and esp. at Christmas time, go for VWL. BLT will always be available at the 11 mos. mark for you.

I would have to agree with PP. You can always stay at BLT. I was there this past Christmas and decorations were sparse compared to other DVC locations. I did love going to TOTWL though to have hot chocolate and watching Fireworks.

Never stayed at WLV but its beautiful.

Since you are leaving on the 24th I'd say VWL since BLT is your home resort.

Now we were there last Christmas and were SO GLAD we were at BLT for the convenience of being able to WALK out of MK b/c it was so thick with crowds and lines were so long for all buses monorails and boats. However those huge crowds didn't come until the 24th and got worse the 26th through New Years. Before the 24th it was crowded but no insanely so... I'm telling you all this for my reasoning that I think you will be okay for crowds since you are leaving the 24th so in your case go for the ambiance of VWL!! WL is very nicely decorated for Christmas!! And even at VWL you can easily catch a boat to CR and then take the monorail around to see GF's decorations and gingerbread house which I consider a don't miss for Christmas!

Another vote for VWL as I can't imagine anywhere else I'd rather be at Christmastime. I have stayed at BLT, AKV, BCV, OKW, and SSR and while VWL is my home resort and favorite, it just can't be beat at Christmas. Have a great trip.

It's unusual that VWL is available but I would keep BLT and go have dinner at Artist Point and visit VWL. MK will be so crowded and it's just so convenient to walk back and forth as opposed to bus or boat. Let us know what you decide.

Absolutely go for the VWL. We were there at Christmas time (not staying, just visiting for lunch), and it was beautiful. We went to CR at the same time (again, for dinner), and there was really nothing to see except for a gingerbread display. I'm sure BLT wouldn't put that much into their decorating either.

We're heading to BLT in September, so I know it can be hard to turn down, but I think this may be the only time we hit BLT....we will DEFINITELY hit VWL again, and I hope it's during Christmas time.

I'd Definitely say VWL Since you are leaving on the 24th crowds shouldn't be that much of a problem and BLT will always be easy for you at 11 months since it is your home resort - I am not a huge VWL but I think it would be fabulous for Christmas !
