I am planning my family's first DVC stay next March. We are planning on staying at AKV for most of our stay. But we stayed there in the hotel recently, and realized how inconvenient it is when going to MK or Epcot and having to return to the hotel for naps. So I'd like to split the stay with a few (2-3) days at a location closer to MK/Epcot. I am leaning toward BLT and Poly, but need help deciding! Wondering which location would you recommend, and would you recommend a specific view (for studio)? I could see us being in the room for evening fireworks, so seeing them from the room could be a big benefit. Need advice for a newbie! Note, we have enough points to do any of these, and are not yet at the 7 month window (3 more days!) but I checked for what is available a few days earlier and all of those options were available for those days.

You can see the fireworks from the lake-view rooms at PVB. Only the theme park rooms at BLT, and a handful of standard and lake view rooms, have a view of the fireworks.

Pvb. The studios are huge (455sq ft) vs the tiny BLT 330sq ft studios.

We own at BLT. I will only stay at 1 or 2bds there. Never a studio. But space is important to me, especially with kids.

Have fun whatever you decide!!

From a space perspective, Poly offers more. Weigh that against being able to walk to MK. This is a great advantage at the end of the night when the monorail lines are long and BLT guests just stroll "home". Size of the 1BR at BLT is nice and has an extra full bath, if you can swing that over a studio. Kitchen and laundry are great pluses.

The studios at Poly are huge compared to everywhere else. Plus, you get the split bathroom--having 2 shower areas is nice. While you can't walk to MK, you do have the boat option in addition to the monorail. Many rooms will give you a fireworks view, plus the view from the pool/beach area is awesome. The kid's water play area next to the pool is also great.

the problem with lake view at the PVB is that most now can't see the castle because of the bungalows - so you would need a higher room

Thank you all for the advice! I am still torn between the two, but am leaning towards BLT since it is a lower number of points, and we will likely be spending most of our time at the parks while staying there.

Actually there have been several threads indicating just the opposite that you can still see the castle despite the bungalows. It is possible in the future that palm trees or shrubbery will have a worse affect on the view that the bungalows.

Regarding BLT vs PVB, the ability to walk to and from BLT for naps and a quick return after the fireworks, outweighs the villa size for me. I would really depend on the number of guests in the room and the ages of the children. A small family at BLT would work fine.

well love them both - own at BLT - but would have brought at PBV but it was way to expensive for me. but agree love the walking path to the MK from BLT/CR
