Omg you guys, I’m totally questioning whether or not to stay at BLT?? I made a reservation for Nov. 10-16 for a standard 2BDR for 9 ppl! But the more research I do and all this talk about how “sterile” BLT is, I’m 2nd guessing myself! I looked online quickly and saw that there’s still availability for a 2BDR at CCV at WL for at least the week before, haven’t called yet, but we are flexible with our dates, so it would be nov 3-9. Really we can do 6 nights anytime between nov3-nov16. I considered VGF but I doubt anything is still available, I’d have to call to be sure. Poly villas are only studios and connecting rooms arent guaranteed, and we really want a 2BDR. Maybe I could call and if VGF is available, would that be better than BLT?

Accessibility to the monorail and MK were my priorities going into this trip bc we stayed at AKL last time and I just felt so cut off and far away from everything. Plus the buses from MK to AKL were horrible! This is like a once in a every 10 years trip for my bro and his wife so I want to make it the very best possible! What should I do??

Also we will have 4 adults, 3(yes 3) 2 yr olds and a 10 mo old.
TIA

You can't go wrong either way, but we love CCV. You won't be nearly as isolated from the parks time wise as you were at AKL, and we love the quiet rural feel and beautiful surroundings. We don't care for the BLT decor, or the walk across the elevated bridge to get to the monorail, but you are closer to the monorail than you would be at CCV. If you want to catch the monorail from CCV though, you can hop on a boat and be at CR in a few minutes. The boats direct to MK are nice too, as are the buses, which are super quick to MK, especially in the morning. Either way will be great, but CCV would be our choice.

I wouldn’t call BLT decor “sterile” but instead “clean and modern.” With the makeup of your party, I would keep BLT. CCV rooms are smaller plus a BLT 2-BR has 3 bathrooms. I don’t think VGF has that and I know CCV doesn’t. And with all the strollers you’ll undoubtedly have, being able to walk to MK will be better than the monorail.

I like the decor and vibe of CCV more than BLT, but they are both gorgeous. However, if your main goal is to be closer to MK and the monorail, I would definitely check on availability at BLT and VGF.

Two totally different vibes from the resorts. The third bathroom isn't needed in your case but if MK is your focus hopping on the monorail (or walking) is much better than needing to waiting for a boat that you can push the stroller on or worse ... a bus.

If you're looking for a Disney immersion experience you really can't beat BLT. If you want to get away from it all, CCV would be a option. CCV will be smaller too.

CCV two bedroom villa only sleeps eight, not nine like BLT. There is no sleeper chair or murphy bed, just one king, two queens, one queen sleeper sofa.

Well, one of the 9 is an infant so it'd be fine. But tight.

I agree with those who have said stick with BLT. The size difference is pretty real. CCV is 1,020 square feet, with some having weird layouts. Bay Lake Tower, it's 1,150 square feet, with more consistent layouts.

WE are going for a 'once in a lifetime' family trip. We chose BLT 2 bedroom for the walk to the MK and because we think that the CR/BLT is as "Disney themed" as any resort. The views of the MK area and over Bay Lake are amazing. The convenience is the best for the MK, IMO.

We love BLT and wouldn't consider moving to CCV. So excited to be able to all be able to stay BLT!!!

We love BLT for it's location and views and would absolutely stay there every trip if funds allowed. The decor doesn't bother us at all. I would agree with PP that it is clean and modern, not sterile. With multiple small children in your group the ability to walk and push a stroller to MK is priceless! Even the monorail can be a pain with strollers and don't get me started about having to unload and fold strollers to get on a bus. What a nightmare! I would keep the reservation you have and save CCV or VGF for when the kids are older and strollers are not such a big part of your trip.

I would agree with keeping BLT. Having the extra space with all of those little people running around will be nice. Also, having the extra bathroom will be nice too. Don't underestimate the benefit of being able to walk to and from MK. If you are going to or leaving MK during crowded times, not having to wait in lines for the buses or boats with tired kiddos and strollers will be really nice.
The pool at BLT isn't super huge, so it would be nice for the little ones.

Have a great trip!!

My favorite hotel on property is BLT and the two bedroom villas are awesome! I would stick with that. The other hotel is beautiful, but I think it'll be too early for them to be decorated for Christmas, which is the best time to visit there in my opinion. Being right on the monorail line is a great convenience for Epcot and being able to walk to Magic Kingdom is amazing. I personally don't think the decor is sterile, I like it.

100% BLT with kids those ages. Walking to MK with those ages in strollers? Dreamy!
And BLT is one of our favorites!

Yep, BLT all the way! Walking to/from MK is so easy! When you're walking to MK there is security setup along the walkway and it's so simple to get through compared to the main security at MK.:earsboy:

I have been to both and I would say for your group do BLT. Easy access to the parks and you can take a nice boat ride to WL and have a meal and enjoy the resort.

BLT no question! We have little ones and have stayed there twice. Absolutely loved being able to walk to MK, my 2-year-old was enthralled by the monorail, and the fireworks view is fantastic! We're staying at BWV next time and I'm worried we won't like it as much, but BLT wasn't available. You won't regret BLT!
