BLT open in July?

On our thread about most DVC resorts being full in July, several people have mentioned that BLT is taking ressies for July. What's the deal? Does anyone know if BLT is indeed opening up early?

Hmmmm, I've not heard July at all - - still hearing August 4th as the projected opening date.

If it is opening earlier than 8/4........it's just a rumor at this point as I don't believe it's been confirmed by Disney.

I know it hasn't been officially confirmed, but on the other thread, at least one other person mentioned their mom, who is a travel agent booked a cash room at BLT? This didn't sound right to me, but when I put in a July travel date on Disney.com, BLT popped up as well.

It's weird, if I wasn't under the weather with a sore throat, I'd call MS to ask about this.

It's very possible that BLT will open for cash reservations before it opens for points reservations.

Keep in mind that BLT is a long way from sold out. Any rooms that have not been declared into the condominium (and thus belong to members who may reserve them for points) belong to the developer. The developer can rent those to the general public (via CRO). Proceeds of the rentals belong to the developer.

IIRC, several DVC resorts opened for cash reservations before points reservations. The most recent of those was the AKV.
