BLT - october weekends?

we just purchased a contract w/ our home resort at BLT. We want to go w/family for 4 nts (Wed-sat) in October in a 2 BR. Our contract does not close until the end of the month & after reading all the info on exact dates for reservations I am worried about getting what we want. I am a bit unsure of the exact dates but it very well may be over Columbus Day wknd which has me more concerned. What is BLt 2 BR availability like? We have stayed there a couple times before on cash & just now bought the contract. My one concern was that I'd be annoyed at trying to use the points for when we want to go & wish we were just paying cash so I could get what I want! We are not flexible on dates as it is tied to the school calendar (which is not out until March). My plan is to book the two most likely weekends of his school break & then cancel one when the calendar comes out in March (we have plenty of points for this). Will 2BRs for Oct. weekends still be available when I go to book at the end of Jan? Thanks!
 
I assume you booked resale? If you booked direct, you could have booked this already upon signing of the contract - your guide could have helped you.

If resale, then unfortunately you would have to wait for your contract to close and for you to have your member# at least and the account opened. If you're really worried, you could rent now, and then just bank your points for next year, or rent your points.

Sorry - can't help you with availability around October.
 
Actually, we booked direct. We were not immediately contemplating a trip at the time (and they were super busy as were we), which is maybe why he did not mention anything. I'll send the guy a note and see if we can book October. Thanks!!

I wouldn't count on your guide getting you the room unless something is available. sometimes they work wonders but if there are no rooms and you get one then somebody who booked already will get the shaft.:goodvibes

Not always true, Guides have been known to book undeclared or breakage rooms for direct buyers.

I think that you will have no problem getting a 2BR for October in January. You are still outside the 7 month window so you have priority. As of now, all room catagories (including standard view) have availability throughout all of October.

Sorry... Didn't mean to imply I wanted to take something away from someone else who had booked... I just don't have a log in or anything quite yet and we/me are anxious that this first booking be successful. In the future you can be sure I'll be on top of these booking windows... But with just buying we are a bit challenged.

You should have all of your needed info to book as soon as you give them your deposit check. Contact your Guide to get the ball rolling.

No you're fine. If you bought direct, your guide will be more than happy to help you with your first reservation! :)
