BLT Now Eligible for Additional $2/Point + $500 Gift Card Referral Incentive

I just wanted to pass along that as of 02/01 the additional $2 per point + $500 gift card incentive DOES apply to BLT! I am pretty sure that the additional $2 + $500 gift card is a referral incentive, like the previously existing AK, SSR, and Aulani incentives. This brings the total incentives to $15 off per point + $500 gift card for purchases of 160+ points (not sure if/what applies to smaller purchases).

This was great as we just bought at BLT late last week but had not closed yet! We are leaving for our first DVC stay this Sunday. By the time we got home from that trip we may have missed the boat on changing our contract.

I understand that this news is covered in the aforementioned thread. However, considering it is a significant change with potential large benefits to folks like myself I thought it would merit a new thread. That way, hopefully no one like me (almost to closing) will miss it prior to closing.

Also, this may help some folks get off the fence and buy BLT prior to the price increase to $140 per point. I am sure that is exactly what DVC is hoping for.

In our case, we made the decision to go DVC a few weeks prior to an already paid for trip to WL. So we just rolled the money over into DVC instead of towards our initial reservation. The only way we could make that work was to go direct.

Also, with the $20/point incentive (at/over 160 points) plus $500 gift card, it was like we paying just under $107/point. Also, factor in lower closing costs, garaunteed 2010 points, and the ability to use our already paid for vacation funds toward membership and the cost direct really was not much more than resale, which was averaging $97-$100 per point a few weeks ago.

In fact, if you factor the 2010 points (which not all resales include) in at $10 per point, you are actually at or below a lot of the resales I saw a few weeks ago. At the least you were close enough where the convenience of going direct made it worthwhile to do so.

I signed paperwork for an addon on 1/24 so I either will qualify to get the revised discount....or I won't...

Either way i put a call into quality assurance to see!! I'll let you know!

Quality Assurance called back and they were more than willing to re-write my contract since it hasn't closed yet....

BUT...

I elected not to because since February is my use year I would have had to give back the 125 2010 points and I valued them above the $250 additional discount and the $500 gift card....

Anyway, its good to know that they are so willing to help you get a newly released deal if it is what you want.

Yes waiting for my guide to call me back to re-write our contract. She has been out for 2 days. I was thrilled to see this information on the boards and then be able to request the change. I added on Monday last week and the new incentives came out Tuesday! One of the reasons I love DisBoards.

This is partially correct. The additional $2.00 off per point is for TeleSales Department sales only.

The $500 VISA Gift Card is now available for BLT, AKV and Aulani.

It is no longer available for SSR purchases, however, you can purchase there for $99 per point.

Discounts are now as follows: BLT $130 minus $13; AKV $120 minus $18 and Aulani $120 minus $12 or $18.

There is an additional $2 per point off for those purchasing via the TeleSales Department only. That is for telephone purchases. Those making their purchase in person would not qualify for this extra discount.
