We took a ride to SSR today in hopes of viewing the BLT models. We were suprised to learn that only current members can see them. They will not be available to the public until 10/5. Anyway, we were really taken with them. Not the decor so much, but both the studio and the one bedroom had attributes we really liked. The studio's kitchenette is its own little room, not in the hall like the other DVC's. The one bedroom has one wall that is all windows and I can only imagine how spectacular that is with a MK view. We also liked that you could literally soak in the tub in the one bedroom and see fireworks. Not that we would...but the novelty of the option is there. Even more shocking, DH asks to sit down and crunch numbers for an add on.:cool1: You have to buy at least 100 points to get any incentive and that's probably more than we want or need, but it looks like it is in the near future. We asked why the dues were so low and we were told it's because of the amount of land it occupies. Don't know if this is true, it's just what we were told. The guide explained the more spread out the resort, the higher the dues. Made sense. I was hoping to see a grand villa, but one has not been built yet. We were told they are planning another 2 story building at SSR to continue as models/sale center. It's really neat how you go through the AK models, through an exit door, and bam, you're in a hall of the Contemporary. It's very well done.

Just curious to know, in the last set of BLT pictures I looked at, the kitchen floor in the 1-bedroom looked as if it might be hardwood. Is it hardwood or just a vinyl that looks that way in the picture?

So they are only letting DVC members view the models right now? I knew they weren't selling to non-owners until October, but not letting them see the models is a bit of a surprise.

Sorry, I didn't pay that much attention to the flooring. The kitchen is pretty. I like the contrast of the dark wood cabinets. There was another family touring with us in the one bedroom. Don't know if it has been mentioned in another post, but the leather chair is a pull out. We were very taken with the models. We love SSR, but it would be nice to have points at BLT for special occasions.

Did you have to have a guide take you in to the models? did you just show up to the SSR guide office and tell them you wanted to see models? Did you have to go through the whole sales pitch too? I am going in December .

thanks !

Also didn't really pay attention to the flooring. But, considering that they have glass tile & stone counter tops, I don't think they would go with vinyl flooring.

Our guide took us since we had an appointment to see her. They may let you go on your own during the open hours of 5 - 7pm. You would still have to go to the checkin counter at the sales center even if you tour it yourself.

This seems to be dependent on your guide. There are reports of non-members viewing. I can't imagine being turned away with the intent to purchase. I have a message in to our guide for possible viewing this week, and we are non-members with cash in hand so to speak.

Oh well, to be honest we are buying strickly for the location so the room decor is secondary.

Our guide is never there when we are (doesn't work weekends and is only there 3 days a week), so we just called and requested an appointment. The guide that took us into the models was polite. He asked if we just wanted a tour or if we wanted to crunch numbers first. It was worth the trip over to SSR, although it was hard to just visit and not check in! No gift card or fastpasses like everyone else received (nor did we ever get them the first time), but we did get ice cream.

never got fass passes or gift cards - from dvc sales guide.

this time got the ice cream - first time since I brought in 93/

Okay so some people say that anyone can view the models from 5-7pm. on their own. but others say you need to be a DVC member first in order to go at that time of day to view models. So which is it? i am not a DVC member yet but hopefully real soon. My original guide was a phone guide who sells the DVC over the phone so she is not on site at WDW.

I thought 5-7 pm was for member to view the models on their own.
