BLT Lakeview Studio or 1 BR Standard View?

A question for those who have had these accomodations....
I am trying to decide between a BLT Lakeview Studio for 4 nights or a BLT 1 BR Standard View for 3 nights. There are limited points and I am trying to reserve some for the 2011 year. I have enough for the studio (without borrowing or purchasing). For the 1 BR, I would have to purchase or use points from other resorts at the 7 month timeframe, since I have only enough points for 2 nights in the 1 BR.
In your opinion, is it worth it to get the 1 BR --even though it would be standard view rather than the studio.(with a lake view.) I know BLT studios are smaller. It would be myself, and 11,8 and 4 year old children. And we are used to getting studios mostly for our stays.
We would be extending our stay by a move to AKL Concierge for 8 to 9 nights, so the additional night is no deal breaker.
Would we be justified in spending the additional money or using more points in your opinions. Thanks.

I would go with the studio. With that short of a stay I wouldn't spend the extra points for the 1BR. Plus unless you own at BLT I think the standard view is hard to get.

Thanks Beth. I have just about convinced myself to get the Studio since it has the lakeview and the children are young now. I do own at BLT but did not want to dip into 2010 points since I can bank them into 2011. I have 2009 banked points which must be used by May 31, so the studio will use almost all of them, leaving 4 points. (I have the 1 BR Standard view locked up right now for 3 nights, but will most likely go ahead and change that reservation to the studio for 4 nights. )

Since this is really for just a few nights before going to AKV, I also say go with the studio. I stayed in one last summer with my 3 children - DS 21, DD 17 and DD14. We did okay for the two nights we were there so I am sure you will be fine!

I think the BLT studio seems very small. On the other hand, the BLT 1BR is VERY nice and spacious.

we loved the 1BR for that awesome shower too ----and love the extra space in case someone wants to sleep. With young children, I would prefer the 1 bedroom for some alone/quiet time for the parents. When our kids were small, it was always difficult watching TV or whatever once the kids drifted off. But since you stated you are used to getting studios it'll probably work for you. Having young kids and being tied to their nap/sleep schedules is what convinced us to buy DVC---space ! :goodvibes

We were in a studio last year (2 adults; 2 tweens) and really found it to be way too small. Personally, I'd opt for the 1-bedroom. .

Thanks to all who responded. I did go ahead today with the studio, especially since it is only 1 adult and 3 small kids. If they were older, I would have done the 1 BR, but the studio gives us an extra night with our points and has the lake view (instead of the standard 1 BR).
On our next trip, we will get the 1 BR.
When we leave BLT, we have 10 days in the AKL Concierge, so we are excited enough about that ! That will give us 14 nights there total and still trying to decide whether to move to BWV after the two weeks.
