We own at AKL and love it but are traveling down for Marathon Weekend. We're bringing a large group including in-laws and have already booked at Kidani for a nice weekend. DW and I are running the Marathon and would really like to stay at BLT for easy access to the monorail. Do we have any chance of getting in, especially if we request a dedicated 2 BR standard or Bay Lake view? In my experience, most marathoners will get a studio or 1 BR so I think we may have a chance with a 2 BR. Thanks for your help!!!!

We had to waitlist but we got one (dedicated 2 bedroom LV) for the 2010 Marathon.:wizard:I hope you get what you want!

We waitlisted in September for a one bedroom lake view for the marathon this year (2011) and it never came through. I even called regularly to see if maybe something had come available.

I doubt if standard will come through, but waitlist the lake view exactly at 7 months out and see what happens. And waitlist both dedicated and lock off.

I booked two weeks ago for marathon weekend (new BLT owner here, so it was the earliest I could call). There were no std. or MK studios for the weekend, and no one bedrooms at all. We ended up with a lake view studio. Can't say for sure on two bedrooms - didn't ask about those. The MS CM said BLT was extremely popular for marathoners.

Anything on the Monorail is popular for marathoners. The last bus leaves for the starting line at 4 am for a race that starts at 5:50. That's a lot of sitting around doing nothing in the wee hours of the morning and the worst part of the Disney Marathon Weekend in my opinion. Thanks for the replies everyone!

In 2010 we waitlisted a 1 bedroom at BLT and got it.

BTW, I think the 2012 marathon and 1/2 the day before are starting earlier this year - I see 5:30a listed as the start time. Unless that's just for the wheelchair start.

Forget about BLT and stay at Old Key West and walk over to the race in the morning. You can get an extra 2 hours sleep and spend 10 minutes to walk over.

We've done it for the last 7 years!:cool1:
