We have a early October trip planned to BLT in a 1BR. On the members site, it mentions the resort is undergoing renovations. What type of renovations are happening at BLT?

Also, we have added two of my son's friends to our party and usually stay close to Disney the night we arrive and then move over to Disney on our first official day there. We drive to Disney, usually arriving well after dark, and by staying offsite the night we arrive, I don't feel like I've "wasted" a night of points on just sleeping. Anyway, with the addition of two of my son's friends, I think it would be easier to "waste" those points instead of moving after the first night. So, I've waitlisted the night before our scheduled stay. I realize it's just a guess, but what are the chances of something coming open for Sunday night 10/2? If I'm on the waitlist, does it do any good for me to check frequently - or does the waitlist catch it before I could see it?

High demand time but sometimes wait list comes through and any chances you have are best if looking for only one night. And, yes, you should check regularly even if on wait list because sometimes something pops open that can be gotten regardless of wait lists.

BLT is undergoing what is called a "soft goods" refurbishment. Rooms will be painted, carpets replaced, other things fixed or replaced as needed. Typically, these are done over many months and only a limited number of rooms (such as half a floor) are taken out service at any given time.
