Hello!

During our upcoming trip to WDW, we have a one day FUN pass. We are choosing Blizzard Beach due to its appeal to young children (2&6).

Where is a good shady spot to put our towels down by the children's play area?

What are your favorite things to do, eat?

We plan on grabbing breakfast at Kona (at our resort) and head to BB for when it opens (10am).

I figured we would stay until 2 or 3pm - depending on kids's moods, etc.

What should we do that night? It will be our last night and tentatively thought about going to DTD (never been) and eating an early dinner (5:30pm) at Raglan Road. Dancing starts at 6pm. Then head back to our resort. Watch Wishes from beach of Poly.

Thoughts or recommendations?

I'm not too sure about BB, since I have never been there. But I have a couple of ideas for afterwards.

Currently, DTD is ripped to shreds. Parking is very hard to deal with (even with the new lot), and I would recommend taking the bus if you want to go there. But be warned, there are a lot of walls, dirt and concrete everywhere. I just went there last weekend, and it was tough. I like the new co-op as that shop has some pretty neat things.
Raglan road is good, but a little overpriced for an Irish place. But it is nice.

However, my main recommendation (and personal option) is to go to Animal Kingdom Lodge for an early dinner at Boma and forget Wishes (maybe do it as a dessert party earlier in the week). Boma has a great variety of very delicious food as well as some variations of normal comfort food (the chicken nuggets are all organic-y goodness.) And after dinner, you can go out on the savannah and look at all the wonderful animals or even do some of the cultural activities. My DS was in the animal/drum parade, and they even have storytellers at night who tell African stories.

The guides who are around the savannah area are very nice - my mom had visited Rwanda and the guide and her had a great conversation about the country (he was from there too).

Anyway, that's my idea - our family usually goes there every vacation since it is such a unique place.

OR....You can book the Hoop-Dee-Doo dinner, enjoy some awesome food and a really fun show (esp for your kids age) and see both Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant (the Pageant sounds more impressive that it really is, but your kids would most likely think it's neat). That might be either A. Too much fun and tiring or B. the right amount of fun and a great end to a really great vacation.
