Blizzard Beach Reopening Nov 13, 2022!

I hope Typhoon Lagoon re-opens in April when we are going, and it's not going to be re-furbished for a long time like before. TL is the only water park my daughter hasn't been to.

I'm so happy! I prefer Typhoon but my kid is a water park FIEND. He will be really excited to try BB. He's 4 and it's been closed since he was able to really ride anything.

We went to Typhoon Lagoon on our last trip and had a blast! My 13 yo daughter and her friend begged me to go back the whole rest of our trip! I'm not sure why I didn't take her sooner (we go to WDW at least once a year). We always focused on the 4 parks. We will definitely be trying BB next trip! I read that some of the new theming is Frozen. Should be really cute!

The Frozen theming will be cute. It's located in Tikes Peak.

Oh man, my kids love Frozen, they're gonna be so pumped. Anyone know what the bus routes will be? Last I recall reading, it was to/from AK, and a couple nearby resorts like ASM maybe? Is that still the case or do we have to wait until it opens for Disney to officially update the routes?

It's anticipated it will be the same as TL currently departs from DS.

The bus routes for Blizzard Beach will only be from DS? That sounds really inefficient. Is that how it was last year?
Yes, this changed a number of years ago. Guests take a bus from their resort to Disney Springs Animal Kingdom then transfer to a Blizzard Beach bus.

Similar to current Typhoon Lagoon process. All guests take a bus from their resort to Animal Kingdom Disney Springs then transfer to a TL bus there.

Going home, process is reversed for both water parks. Saves all buses going from a resort to a water park then on to the second location when often buses do not have water parks guests on them. All water park buses from resorts are shared routes either with Animal Kingdom or, Disney Springs.

Thanks for the info. I found where I read about the bus routes from some resorts.

and also on these forums as well

Could be that they are changing this year compared to 2021?

They could but to date changes have not been announced and my understanding is that TL is as it was in 2021.

Also, it really is most efficient to go to one place for water park transportation. Far more guests go to Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs than go to the water parks so rather than every single bus needing to go to the water parks to see if they have guests to drop off or pick up, just go to one central location and send common buses to the water parks.

I can't count the number of times in the past I was on a bus that circled through one of the water parks and left without needing to drop off or pick up but every time they had to check. I prefer the new method even though we go to the water parks a couple of times each trip. It's also nice when leaving the water parks that everyone goes to one pickup stop to board a bus to DS.

Nice to have these both open! Love the Disney water parks. They shocked me in Disney's willingness to go over the top. At Typhoon Lagoon it's the MASSIVE wave in the surf pool, and at Blizzard Beach it's the Summit Plummet. Both will satisfy even the most diehard thrill seeker.

At Typhoon Lagoon I remember thinking, "Disney designed this?" after tumbling into other guests, scraping the bottom of the pool, and finally realizing where I was after the first time in the massive wave in the surf pool.

At Blizzard beach, it's the speed and the "atomic wedgie" you get when dropping 120 ft in the Summit Plummet drop slide.

I like that both parks are very relaxed and very chill, go with the flow. No pun intended. :)

I think you might have the water parks reversed. TL is close to DS, and guests currently transfer at DS on their way to/from TL. BB is close to AK, and in the past AK was the bus transfer point for BB.

Thanks so much! You're quite right! I updated my post above. Thanks for your help!

A bit of an older thread but was at BB the other day and since this was asked about above (and is one of the more obscure wrinkles of water park transportation), snapped a pic of the bus directory. Direct bus service for CSR and the All Stars, transfer at DAK for all others. FWIW.
