Heading for a mother/daughter trip in mid-May...She's 18....I'm an adult...which of the two water parks would you suggest? Never been to either...Thanks!

Blizzard Beach. Wave pool is calmer...meaning you can stand when a wave hits you. Family raft ride way better. We just like it better. Still not sure? Are you using Disney Buses? Get on the first one that comes.

We always do TL. I like the lush landscaping and tropical feel that BB doesn't really have. BB is a blast, but very sunny and less shaded areas. They both have equally fun water slides/rides. Wave pools are somewhat similar, but at BB you can put a inner-tube in the water also. I'd say TL has a very laid back Jimmy Buffet pirate feel, where BB is a bit more fast paced.

BB - More thrill rides, a better family raft ride, and a better lazy river (IMO). They have a rapids pool, not a wave pool, which is calmer than TL's wave pool.
TL - The best wave pool you can ever experience. It's rough and oh so fun. Home to Crush 'N Gusher - 3 amazing "roller coster like" slides, which are out of this world, and they also offer the experience where you can snorkel with live sharks, rays, and fish.

EDIT: Just reading the above posts, and I LOVE the idea of taking the first bus that comes!!!! We may have to try that ourselves!

Being from the Midwest, being in a water park with a snowy, blizzard theme wasn't always my favorite. I love the tropical, beachy feel of TL. I also prefer the wavepool, kid's grilled cheese pretzels (even as an adult! I can't recall if these were available at BB), and the shark reef at TL.

I have to vote Typhoon Lagoon. To me it's much prettier and has more shady spots than BB. I find the waterslides more to my liking, too.

I am also trying to decide which one to attend in May. I've been hearing that there have been technical issues with Summit Plummet and Slush Gusher and they are both apparently closed (while the rest of the park remains open). SP would be a major draw for us, so if that's closed while we are there, we will head to TL.

They are both incredible and very well themed. If I was in this dilemma, I would flip a coin. Or like someone else said, get on the first bus that comes :)
Btw the swimming with the sharks thing at TL is VERY cold. Neat experience though.

To me the biggest plus for BB is that the family raft ride has a conveyor belt that carries the raft up for you! Those things are heavy. Plus the bobbing pool is fun. But otherwise, TL has gorgeous sandy areas sprinkled with palm tree islands and has a much more "chill out all day" feel to it. BB plays reggae and Christmas tunes, TL plays the Beach Boys, Jimmy Buffet, etc.

I would vote for Typhoon Lagoon. We have been to both and we prefer TL...we like the theming better. I would highly recommend renting an umbrella (about $60) in the area above the wave pool. You get your own reserved area with 4 beach loungers, table and towels. You don't have to fight the crowds and it is very relaxing!

Have a great time!

Blizzard Beach for sure. Many more and better rides.

We are trying to decide the same for our trip in August. I haven't been to either and I'm used to Wet n Wild which is my fave. We won't do any of the crazy slides so I wondered which had more "family friendly" slides. I'm all about the lazy river too :)

I haven't seen anything about those slides being down. Where did you get that info?

Yup, I concur.

I'm from Michigan so when I go to Florida I don't need the Blizzard theme :rolleyes1

We did BB once when our kids were younger, even they liked TL better.

JMHO, enjoy which ever you choose.:sunny:

Bizzard Beach is a little tamer, has the family raft ride (which I like) also like the lazy creek better.

Typhoon Lagoon is a little more on the 'wild side' and would probably suit two younger adults better.

Each has it's pros and cons, so really it's a matter of personal preference and you can't go wrong with either choice!! Have fun!!

Thanks for the feedback...I think we may go with TL...do you have to pay extra for snorkeling?

TL is our favorite too but in all honesty we haven't been to BB since 1996 so......
