I prefer Blizzard Beach over Typhoon Lagoon and am surprised it isn't open yet. I thought when the weather heats up both would be open. Any guesses when it might?

We are going right after Memorial Day.

Blizzard Beach fan too and was hoping it would be open when we go in early June. It’s looking like I have to try Typhoon Lagoon and miss my ski lift at blizzard beach (love the lift).

My kids love the iceberg area. Like the theming so much better and want a bobbing pool, not big waves!

Yeah kinda aggravated I bought the Water Park etc added to my AP because I thought I was paying for two water parks this summer. Nothing else on that add on is worth anything to me.

Blizzard Beach is our go to park, TL is lush but boring.

Unfortunately in February they filed LOTS of permits for work for a whole lot of the BB slides etc and they expire next March, 2023.

We like the wave pool for about 15 minutes then we are done. The slides and other areas at BB are so much better.

Disney learned from all their mistakes with TL when they built BB. When TL opened it had the tiniest kiddie area you can imagine. It was worthless. We were excited to take our 3 year old, they failed. Later they gutted it and built the new one, much bigger but unfortunately it's on a main walkway forcing parents to keep a very close eye on the kiddies. LOVE Tike's Peak at BB - fully enclosed and has everything you need. And the Ski Patrol Area is great for those kids in between kiddie and more adult slides.

I wonder if staffing has anything to do with it. They have very specific requirements at a place like BB, including a lot of training and safety skills to work there. With so many problems getting staff, maybe it's an issue there, too. I miss it!

The rumor is that they are installing conveyor belt systems for the rafts on several of the slides, so you won't have to carry the raft to the top. Currently, it's estimated to reopen in May, but that's not guaranteed.

I hope this is true! Carrying those tubes up for the one with 4 tube slides is torture. Downhill double dipper isn't too bad since you don't carry as far and little kids can't ride.
